Four shots in almost two periods. Lots of floating. How can they keep preaching the same poop after each game and still show up with BS like this? If I'm KD, I'm selling whatever anyone else wants. This is not the culture you want/need to build. Just ask for guys on short contracts back and call it a day. Start from scratch next year.

Kind of sucks with us having so many Dmen who are failing to make a good first pass. Giveaways, failed clears, spending much of the time on ice in our end chasing. A lot like we saw for long stretches against Tampa after the 1st period. We only have 3 legit experienced NHL dmen in the lineup and it shows IMO. Not putting it all on them, but it's hard to win when you have so many guys that wouldn't be on an NHL roster right now with other teams.

I get the issues with the defense, but it's a major effort issue as well. So many players that are floating, not fighting for pucks, stick checking, weak plays at either blue line, etc. That's not a talent problem.

So are the Wild going to score more goals than the Hawks have total shots? I have been on a team like that ... did I ever play where I was not paying to play? No ... ok, see that there is the difference ... Oh it still sucked even then -but I mean come on.

That's part of it. The 4th line, well part of it were the only thing kind of going tonight so far. Nazar trying pretty hard too.

The problem tonight is a complete lack of effort. Let’s see if someone can do something to energize the team in the third.

Well the 4th line, Jones and Nazar have been breathing life into the team. They made a game of it.

Does look like we'll have some decent defensive depth in a couple years though. EDM might be one of those guys that might be a top 4 contributor down the road.

OK, someone who's played, please explain. How the hell can the team come out with that piss poor effort then turn it on like this? They literally say every single game that they need to play a full 60 mins.

Ugh, you know what sucks on the EN goal. Bertuzzi tried to get on his horse and get to that puck after the faceoff, Middleton interferes with him, holds him back and Bertuzzi doesn't get there in time to challenge in the corner.

I’m going to guess that the Wild lost their legs in the third due to the back to back. I only played a little of organized hockey, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Nice try coming back, just keep the kids playing their minutes. It's nice to see another kid on the team on a 4 game point streak, hopefully this is Nazar finding a feel for the NHL and becoming a much needed top 6 player with Bedard.

Just don't try to tell Pronman that. Hey, at least the guy is consistent (even though he's wrong).

Gotta say, Jones was not the problem tonight. He was actually really good.

Are you trying to get banned from here? We struggle against many teams but especially the Wild for some reason?

The other explanation - psychology ... they took the outcome for granted, and let up themselves (the Wild that is).

It's so hard to draft top 6 forwards and top 4 defenseman because there are so few of them in any given draft. Pronman has a chance to be more right than wrong but at the same time he could be more wrong than right.

For me the encouraging sign is the style of hockey Nazar plays. Impressed he was able to add 15 pounds to his smaller frame so he may be one of those kids that can train and put on weight. I don't know what the future holds for him but if that hip is 100% with no future problems i think he's going to be an excellent player on a winning team eventually.

A problem I see is how long can Hawk fans and the media remain patient? I’m amongst the more patient on this site and yesterday’s pathetic lack of any semblance of effort for two periods is taxing. If ownership gasses KD the new GM will have a different vision and who knows what that will bring? I think KD has to try to find a couple of NHL ready forwards who aren’t there only for a pay cheque. How does he go about acquiring them? I have no clue but another season mired in the basement will ensure Davidson is gone.

The Raiders made Mike Mayock their GM a few years back. Yeah that worked well.

Your first sentence got me thinking so I went down the rabbit hole.
15 of the top 25 point producers thus far this year were top 10 picks.
Four have the Russian factor (Kucherov 2nd, Kaprizov 5th, Panarin UND, Marchenko 2nd)
Then you have four mid-to-late 1sts (Connor, Pasternak, Necas, Konecny)
Then the last two outliers (Point, Bratt)

Five of these guys are not on the team that drafted them.

Expand to the top 50 and you get some more diversity with guys like Aho, Guentzel, Hagel (number 26), and Stone.

I have no idea where I was going with this, but there's not much else to talk about...

I just don't see it that way. There may not be NHL success in the standings, but there is success all over the place where our draft picks are playing, not only are they performing, they are performing at a high level for their respected teams.

Even though Pronman doesn't think Bedard is the best under 23 player in the league and doesn't think Nazar will amount to much, he even can't deny us that we have the most over all talent when it comes to 23 and under players.

This offseason we will see if KD learned from his mistakes and signs better free agents in the summer, or does a sign and trade.

I just keep thinking of how they promoted Bowman to VP when he should of been fired
