Donato's not going anywhere imo
- Assman22

Why? Expiring contract and career year. GMs love over paying for that type of rental. Resign him in the offseason if the Hawks think he’s an important guy to keep around.

I meant the team record, 7 points in 6 games.

Jones has come on of late and its true we need someone to take the minutes away from Brodie first. As i said before Bread, Seth Jones would be better as a 20 minute a night defenseman, not being on the number 1 power play. I'm glad to see Crevier being the 1st unit PK with Vlasic, the 5 minute PK was a thing of beauty last night.

- BetweenTheDots

Ah yeah, over that span, we have 7 points in 6 games, Points % is 13th best in the NHL for that stint. The PP is humming along at 30%, but the PK is awful at around 66%. We are scoring over 3 goals per game while giving up about 3 per game, but the shots...we are getting about 21 per game while giving up about 38.

Overall, we got some results but goalies need to be on top of it or we pretty much have no chance.

Am I the only one getting tired of Foligno’s crap. From the things that he says to the stupid penalties.

Between him and Maroon they take at least one dumb penalty per game. Both would be fourth liners on a good team, Maroon would be scratched more often than not.

I’m okay with trading Donato or resigning him to a reasonable contract, no need to overpay anymore for vets. If they do move Donato, I’d like to see KD add a draft pick or a young defenseman and bring a good prospect back. How many third round picks contribute at the NHL level? While I’m sure that there are outliers, there can’t be many.

Saad and Blues agree on mutual termination of Agreement. If he clears waivers, imagine he'll sign with contender on a low-end contract. Why not pay a little for a 2 time Cup winner for depth?

Because they rarely come back in that manner and you lose a leader type that sets a great example for the youth and plays the game how you want the rest of the team to do so unlike some of pieces of poop davidson brought in this offseason.

Maroon gave a good interview on Spittin' Chicklets and commented on how much he likes the improvement he has seen in Reichel's game, and how much he's enjoyed mentoring him, even had him over for Christmas dinner. If all Maroon accomplishes is getting Reichel on the right track, he's worth his salary.

Donato? He's ok. Don't really understand the love. 60% of his starts are in the ozone. He's ok defensively. Less than 2 hits a game. Put Slaggert in his spot and I doubt anyone notices Donato is gone.

He's probably going to want to get paid if he cracks 20g. You don't pay guys after having career years. The shine has worn off Richardinson after the Hawks paid him for a career year.

When Maroon's kids stop beating him in board battles we'll have something good.

Pronman has two guys at #2? That does sound like Pronman he's as clueless about the draft and amateur hockey as Bamford. Always enjoyed Tony Ferrari's takes on the draft profiling and have followed you for years as well Bill. Thank you for what you do sir

He has center Caleb Desnoyers as his #4, Misa #2, Schaefer #1, and Hagens at #3.

Desnoyers did not pop to me in the few times I have seen him. Will have to check out a Moncton game on streaming and see what I'm missing.

Pronman has:

Ravensbergen #15
Cootes #17
Gastrin #18
and Spence is not in the top 24.

I have been boosting Ravensbergen for the TOR pick all year, if he doesn't get there, these other 3 seem like good choices.

Cootes is a smaller guy but was dynamic in the game I saw last week, goal and assist and pushing the play.

Totem, have you seen much of Misa? Like you with Desnoyers watching Misa a fair bit he just doesn't jump out. Nothing wrong with him at all and he just racks up points (2 per game) and goals but he seems to do it rather quietly.

I'm going to start making it a point to take a hard look at Desnoyers. If his motor is as high as I'm reading about he's off on the right foot. ....... And, do you think they'll use a 1st rounder on a goalie? They've used a 2nd on Commesso and Gajun so we know KD and Crew will use resources for the position but have yet to use a 1st.

Desnoyers is a good two way player who is fast and plays a heavy game. I think his strongest attribute is he’s a smart player with good on ice vision. His weaknesses are I don’t think he has the ceiling of Misa or Hagens offensively and he plays in the QMJHL which doesn’t currently have the talent of the OHL or WHL so it’s difficult to assess him fully.

I have been late on throwing in the towel and accepting they would probably have a top 4 pick. Even at the recent pace they would still be at 5. So I didn't look much at the top 4. Hagens looked good in the WJC.

Ravensbergen has been a favorite of mine since last year, Prince George plays wide open and he gets peppered every night but remains calm and steady. As it is a deep goalie draft, I guess they might wait, at least they wouldn't trade up in the first. Wonder what they think of a later pick like Rimpinen who did well at the WJC.

Curious why Spence seems to be dropping these days. Still more than 1 ppg and good size. He looks like a good CHI pick to me. They must see him a lot at Erie with Misiak and Henry already there.

With the return of D Doughty to @LAKings lineup, D Clarke who leads the team in PTS by D appears to be a healthy scratch tonight. Perhaps Kings setting up a move with is ice time diminishing

The Kings can't seriously be thinking about moving Clarke can they?
If they are,Kyle should offer Levshunov or Korch and 2nd or even the Toronto 1st?
You could speed up the rebuild just a tad bit.

Not sure who is in goal tonight, but Soda looked good the other night,I'd give him another shot tonight as well.

CAR usually gives the Hawks fits. Hoping to see the youth continue to factor into the scoring and build off the last game.

In the OHL Clarke was a real stud defenseman, one if the best I saw during that time. I haven’t seen much of him in LA to comment on his play in the NHL. I find it hard to believe the Kings will give up on a 21 year old. But if they are KD will have to fully understand why the Kings giving up on him before he makes a move to acquire him.

Win or lose, if the Hawks approach the game with the same effort and energy they did last game I can live with that.
