now let's do all the 3rd rounders who never sniffed the NHL. I wonder which list is much longer.

Anyone remember Eric Lecompte? Chicago’s late first round pick in 1993 a big forward with good junior numbers but never played an NHL game. Well his son Nathan is draft eligible (ranked in the 200s) for this upcoming draft. He’s 5’10 160 to his Dad’s 6’4 210 but apparently he skates well and he’s a scrappy forward who never hesitates to battle anywhere on the ice and wins more than he loses. He’s scoring at a .80 points a game.

Just some rough math, but between 2020 and 2017 anywhere from 18-24 players each year from the 3rd round played in 0-10 games. Obviously, the number gets notably higher if you look at players who've played less than 82 total games.

End of the day, both sides are right. A few great players, lotsa not so great.

Sounds like Laine, K Dach and Newhook got benched the other night. Maybe KD was onto something.

That is interesting. Reward for burning a year, plus the good will it shows the player

Saw him the other night in the Chicoutimi - Halifax game. He seemed to be pretty active. Wouldn't be bad for a late round flyer. Mentioned him in one of my long-winded blurbs back on p. 214. Won't be rolling up those PIMs like his dad did though.

The three players have seemingly nothing in common. No clue?

He’s a flake, I want solid characters on the team.

I hope Lardis is able to take then next two steps, he’s got skills you can’t teach, incredible skating ability, off the charts release and shot and the hockey smarts to find open areas and seams on the ice.

Isn't that former first round pick Oliver Bonk he blew by like he was skating in mud?

A first rounder who is at least a year or two older?

Kevin Korchinski named AHL all-star MVP. 1 goal, 3 assists and a shootout goal. I'm sure it wasn't a tight checking event but still good for him.

Yeah 3-on-3 opens things up nicely for the skill guys, but still a nice showing. Good for him.

Indeed it was. He was indecisive and caught in no man's land when the puck came down and flat-footed while Spellacy was in stride.
