KD's biggest concern right now is Rockford sucks, not Chicago. - rpeters01
From what I've seen, a notable part of that is the goaltending. Commesso (and Weeks) have struggled mightily to start the year. Their D overall is above average. Their offense is coming around. They've been generating chances but still get a lot of shots blocked.
Like the big club, they need the forwards to be better defensively. |

33 years old in December
Only scored 23 points one year.
5’ 10”
Other centers on Pittsburgh…. Crosby, Malkin, Rakell, Glass, Hayes, Lizotte - Ztra
Richardinson only scored in double digits in goals last year (22), that is my point.

Rockford sucking is irrelevant providing the prospects are playing and improving. Remember that Rockford team is awfully young and inexperienced and unlike some teams KD didn’t sign a bunch of journeyman veterans to try to win while taking playing time away from the youngsters. So long as Rockford improves over the course of the season while the young prospects are improving there’s no reason to be concerned. |

Let's face it Hawks are going to get a top 5 pick this upcoming draft. Davidson did what he said brought in more talent to the top six brought in character players and veteran help on defense and at the goaltending position. The players that were brought in have been hurt and under performing to this point in the season. Coaching also has not been stellar either.

Nazar with the goal
Arty and KK with the assist, nice |

They are already doing better only giving up 3 goals per game. Can they maintain that and improve the offense over the next couple of years?

Just curious if you guys think Nathan MacKinnon is pretty good? Look at his 1st 4 years of hockey and he had a better supporting cast than Bedard.
Bedard will be fine, he's working on being a better hockey player. |

Nah, I’m going with the board narrative, Bedard is a small, slow, weak boy with an average shot and terrible hockey sense. |

For me anyway, the game the other night against the Kraken is the type of game we are seeing less this season than last and that's a positive step as well.
Was half paying attn during the first the other night as I was talking to my brother who lives in SEA. I was surprised when I started looking at the shots that after 8 or 10 mins the Hawks had none, as both Bertuzzi and Bedard had good looks and shots early on that apparently missed the net.
Like Fatty mentioned, If Bedard scored on one of his shots, maybe that would've gotten him going. Hopefully they work harder and have a bit of puck luck tonight. We knew this team wasn't going to be great this year, but I do think they are capable of winning some games. Would be nice to see them go one a little run. |

I believe that if LR can get any other line going that the opponent has to respect, it will actually open things up for Bedard and his line. I'm afraid there just isn't enough goal scoring talent on this roster for that to happen this year.

Is it though? Hasn't a big part of the argument been they need to be in a "winning culture" not constantly losing? |

You could argue that MacKinnon (if not Makar at this point) is the best player in the league. |

Unless the announcers were wrong all game, Weekes started in net. Not exactly sure how well his game will translate to the NHL, but Dach has been getting the dirty work done for the Hogs. Nice work behind the net on the Hogs second goal.
I couldn't watch, but listened to the first half of the game. You hear a few names consistently: Slaggert, Nazar, Savoie, and KK. Not always good, but most of the time it's because they are driving the play. |

Seattle is a cool town. Sucks this time of year but probably the most beautiful summer you could ask for. Food is tremendous as well. Spinasse is the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy.
With 22 on the roster right now with LB still on IR it may be a good opportunity to give Nazar a quick look against the Ducks then maybe send him back down and look to have him up permanently around the first of the year when they have that 7 game home stand.
He's just a lil guy but I think dynamic enough and a good enough hockey player (he can defend and knows where to be with out the puck) and that would give them time to find a favorable deal for someone else or just drop someone I guess. |

He's been paired with Slaggert on the PK and they've been really good together. |

KD said he is not going to yo yo Nazer up and down. When they decide to bring him up, it is for the I yention he will be up permanently. |

I was thinking the same as fatty, I have a feeling they’re going to bring him up this home stand. I actually came here to post that. All prospects are different, some have to marinate longer than others. |

From The Athletic, a piece on each team’s fastest rising prospect. Thought it might be Nazar at first but from everything I read this sounds about right.
Sam Rinzel, RHD: When the Blackhawks selected Rinzel with the No. 25 pick in the 2022 draft, some thought it was a reach. The Blackhawks knew at the time they’d have to be patient with Rinzel’s development. He had size and could skate, but he was raw otherwise as a defenseman. Now a sophomore at Minnesota, he’s starting to put it all together. He’s gotten stronger, has a better sense of how to play position and is consistently producing. He could soon too join the Blackhawks’ young and promising defensive group. — Scott Powers |

Have spent a fair amount of time in SEA and really enjoy it. Pretty sure the Kraken play at the Key and was there yrs ago for a concert. Love VAN and POR out that way too.
I don’t know if they bring FN3 up before the 1st but if he keeps trending how he is, I wouldn’t bet against it either. |

This is the BOD not the BOO (Board of Optimism) stop over hyping the team and the players, his name is Rinzbust for a reason. |

The thing I do like is that KFC has loaded up on picks the first three drafts he oversaw.
Some will turn out better than expected and obviously others will fall short of expectations.
When the Hawks picked Kirby Dach, how many had Alex Vlasic as being a great 2nd round pick in that draft? Even just last year at the beginning of the season, Pronman had Vlasic in his “Might Play NHL games” tier when he ranked and examined the Hawks’ prospects.
Edit - and from this draft, maybe Rinzel ends up being the best of KFC’s three 1st rounders. |
