I do agree with Jones when he's focused he's a better defenseman, as i said prefer 20 minutes a night, i also thought Murphy played well under LRs system but he can't stay healthy which is why i believe Brodie was signed. Martinez seems to get injured as much as Murphy does so it's a IDGAF which one you keep.

So you keep Seth and Vlasic for next year, bring up KK and Arty next season, so maybe

Vlasic and Arty
KK and Seth
Allan/EDM/Kaiser and Crevier?

Rinzel to the Rock? Same with Brodie

Then what if they draft Shaefer, if they do then i believe you'll see some kind of trade involving a young left defenseman.

No way is Arty ready for the NHL yet. Give him 4 games at the end of the year and then back to RFD for more seasoning. At least mid year next year but wouldn't be sad to see him spend all year there.

I still think it will be Murphy, Jones, Vlasic and four kids (in a rotation). For the most part, the kids that have played have not really looked out of place. Over time, some have shown some issues, but it's not Boqvist bad.

If Brodie is still in the org next year he'll be with the Hawks. I personally think he'll just be bought out as he would literally be blocking a prospect that can play as well as he does. I'd say KK is a fixture next year and Allan, EDM, Crev, and Kaiser fight for the last three spots on the big team. Maybe one of Allan/Kaiser get traded.

In RFD, you'll have Lev, likely Rinzel, and possibly Harding and/or Kelley added.

I’d be okay with Jones and Murphy as the vets, however Murphy can’t play a full season anymore, that’s a problem.

Is it? It's not like they don't have bodies on defense. They have Crevier and Kaiser to resign as RFA's, and KK likely to challenge for a spot. If they trade a d-man for a forward, then maybe you might have to add a vet just for insurance, but I still think the kids they have now are ample to keep the team afloat.

Maybe I'm putting too much faith in them, but the assumption is that there will be growth from year to year. The fact that they have extra guys available gives them some cushion to rotate them if one or two regress a bit.

Oh come on Dots! I’m 100% sure the refs don’t think that way. Bedard gets lots of penalties because he’s always got his stick wrapped around the opposition. Instead of using his body to impede players he’s usually waving his stick around and that will more often than not get a penalty call. The other day on the third Hawk goal he proved he could win a puck battle when he outfought Nurse for a loose puck by using his body and stick.

I'll grant that it does appear that the Hawks get hosed on a good number of calls, but overall, I agree with your sentiment here.

You're either a Bedard lover or a Bedard hater you have to pick a side.

Almost the whole damn team use their sticks instead of their body to battle for pucks. I’m actually surprised the Hawks don’t get two or three times the calls for the amount of hooking, or reaching in that they do. And a big reason I hate seeing kids come up is because the veteran players aren’t playing the right way. One guy who does play the right way, his hockey ability notwithstanding, is hated by many here, Connor Murphy.

You can have whatever color you want... as long as it's black.

Look who tops Button's top 50 NHL affiliated players-

That's right, Demidov. "superstar written all over him"

The Hawks have 3 players in the top 50.

45- Boivert

Yeah, too early in the rebuild to not have two vets on the blue line, in my opinion. So if you have Jones, Murphy, and five youngsters, what happens when Murphy goes down for 15 games…

I’m hoping Pang can be packaged with someone at the TDL to get him out of Chicago. I’m tired of listening to his non stop Chatty Cathy routine.

Can't blame Martinez - Jones hung him out to dry by not doing what they tell every frigging Little Leaguer baseball player --- keep the (ball) - in this case puck, in front of you .... lackadaisical bull.

Martinez was never going to have the wheels to recover from that. Not at his age.

Jones made the original mistake but you’re taught as a kid on a two on one to take the pass away, Martinez didn’t and we’re tied.
