Lardis with another goal

Canada taking it to the Finns.

Should make for an interesting game on Thursday. Not sure if the older Tkachuk will be healthy to play on Thursday.

Misa still tearing it up,odd to see Wiz with the Hocks taking Hagens over Misa at lines.com

Earlier in the year I thought McQueen would be a good target, not sure if he has the same issues that Cayden Lindstrom has,but if he does I'd stay away from him. The other day I checked and Lindstrom still has not played a single game this year? Poor kid.

Back surgery will do that. There's always a lot of draw to the giants in a draft. I'd be interested to see how often those guys got hurt early or often in their careers.

Somebody needs to tell the Delta pilot in Toronto that the wheels go under the fuselage, not above it....

When they are big dudes at 17-18 that can move that makes them all the more enticing.

But definitely interested in some #s about the big guys and how often their injuries are back related.

Can't believe the Finns made a game outta that one.
Crosby's EN sealed the deal.

Did you get a chance to watch the last piggies game and Levshunov?
Has his game improved that much from start of the year until today?

Last time i saw him was end of Dec to mid January, one thing that really really impressed me is his first step to shut down a pass play in his own end, when he's got a feel for what the opponent is trying to do he's excellent defensively. He still needs some work but he's coming along nicely

I missed the last one but saw the one before. I saw the highlights of the last one. I've not hidden my impression of Levshunov. I really like his game. When he gets his head fully around his own zone, he'll be friggin amazing. He will 100% have an adjustment period to the speed of the NHL and the overall talent level, but once he gets that down, I think his tools project incredibly well.

I think KK could end up like Fox as a ceiling. Rinzel is going to be the really interesting one. I wish I'd been able to watch more Minny games. The few that I've seen, he just stands out so much. His overall game has come along nicely and his he's also generating a lot from the back. Ultimately, there's only one puck and three defensive pairs. It wouldn't surprise me much if they ended up trading one of them (my money would be on KK) for a high later year pick or good forward prospect.

Watched a game not too long ago,he seemed to move extremely well for a big guy. At first I hoped he'd be brought up at some point this season, but considering he's 19,he's probably best suited for the AHL for now
And he'll probably spend a portion if not all of next season there as well.

You think the Hocks will be kicking themselves for not taking Demidov over Levshunov in a few years?

Levshunov/Rinzel/Vlasic/Korchinski/Jones
That is 5 D men. Plus Crevier/Allan/DelMasteo/Kaiser.
Something has got to give.
Unless they plan on getting rid of Jones in the next year or two, I can see them moving one of Korch/Levshunov/Rinzel

If Levshunov proves to be a top pairing defenseman then he was the correct choice.

I never understand this line of thinking. I think some fans will because they simply liked him more. The Hawks have an incredible prospect in Levshunov. Just be excited about him and hope that he reaches his ceiling. if he does, he'll be a great add. There will be other drafts and other players. There will be several different iterations of this team as the years go on.

Personally, I just want a well rounded team and I think that's what the Hawks want too. It sounds weird, but I'd rather not have 2 or 3 top 10 forwards like EDM. If you have one of those guys and really strong depth behind them, it solves a ton of problems.

The first thing they need to do is get some more kids going on this roster and string some wins together. At this point, I've talked myself into Carle being the best fit. He's won a ton, has the respect of a lot of people, and seems to be able to get almost any roster to buy into what he wants them to do.

Just banter that I read on twitter. Probably coming from teenagers
If he and Rinzel pan out, their D depth will be top notch in a few years. Probably one of the deeper D in the NHL.

I don't know anything about Carle other than his college and junior achievements.
Donno what type of style he prefers etc...

Also,I'm not too thrilled with the free agent coaches currently out there. I believe Cooper out in Tampa is in the last year of his deal, but not sure he is leaving Tampa.

I also tend to think a better coach will benefit both Bedard and Nazar. Neither Luke nor Anders are good NHL coaches. They might be one day,but not right now.

Nick Lardis is on pace to score 70 goals this season. The only other players to have scored 70 goals in the OHL are Wayne Gretzky, John Tavares, Doug Gilmour and Eric Lindros.

I’ve always been of the opinion that you need a Batman and Robin upfront, plus a couple of studs on defense as well. If everything pans out, they should be able to find a couple of studs on defense from the prospect pool, plus Vlasic. They seem to already have one of Batman and Robin, they now need to find the other. If only they could find a young Barkov, that would do it.

Yeah he had a goal and four assists, he was outstanding. We knew his skating was strong and he has an NHL level shot and release. He also sees the ice extremely well and is a very good playmaker.

I know it's early in kk career but kk ++ for Leonard from Washington type of player Hawks need in their top six. It will be interesting also what Toronto does with marner and taverns if they sign both might not enough money to extend knies. Even with the cap going up.

Bust!

Now that I have that out of the way, the fact that he has NHL level skating and shot should get him about 75% of the way to the bigs. The rest I think is just going to be "want-to" and the mental side of things. Seems like he has a good head on his shoulders listening to his interviews.

The Hawks seem to have actually got it right on having a lot of guys that put in a lot of work to get better. There will certainly be some whose heads won't be able to process the NHL fast enough to get to their ceilings.

The most interesting guys to me are:
Rinzel
Lardis
Boisvert
Kantserov
Greene

In that order. I simply haven't paid enough attention to Vanacker to have a solid opinion of him. I know you like him a lot, so I'll take that into account.

You know when a player is good, Arty frustrated several Wild players tonight where they took penalties because of it.

I have to say i think Arty is playing better than Korchinski, at least in tonight's game.
