Yeah that's it. Generally think you have some decent posts and can be thoughtful Steve but call BS on this one. What are the talking points and when exactly were the Salad Days?

Also who ran off who? This site seems to be doing pretty well even though it's starting to crash with regularity.

Honestly last time he was elected i got really scared and conservative in my portfolio because and its just my opinion he's like the Wild card on every day is sunny in Philly, Charlie. I really have no idea what he's going to do and I'd rather play it safe than sorry.

Been to Montreal and it's gorgeous and from what I have heard it's as close to Europe as you can get without being in Europe, but being from the states.....it was not a warm reception...and I was there in the summer or fall and never attended a Habs game.

Have NEVER gotten that reception having been to a lot of Ontario. Want to get out to BC, Alberta, and Winnipeg.

- SteveRain

Why do people from the States go to large cities in foreign countries and expect or somehow think they are in store for a warm welcome?

Never had a problem there or detected a vibe that was off.

Have been in MTL three times and always had a good time. Was there for the F1 race with my wife the day after the Hawks won the Cup in 2010.

Had a Hawk Seabrook T-shirt on and several Habs fans told me they were happy for the Hawks. Judging by the looks they weren't old enough to have enjoyed Hab Cup wins over the Hawk in '71 and '73.

You and Paul will likely appreciate this part though. I was having a drink at our hotel bar (while wearing the Seabs t-shirt/jersey) and three guys came up to me and said "You know what you've done, right?"

Turns out they were Leaf fans and I knew exactly what we'd done. Passed the torch of futility on to them.

I hear you and can relate. While I do think my portfolio will do ok, here's to hoping this is his last term.

I think our portfolios in large amount will come down to if "he" gets a tax cut through? Then hold on because the next administration will need to raise taxes to rebuild the government. Just a guess nobody knows. Is he a "wild card" or is he "The Joker"?

I would call myself a regular but not as regular as some.

But I don't think I am naive, but I don't feel a cligue is on this board.

Sure when all those folks met up ELI (who i think WAS the guy in charge of policing any nasty stuff being posts W/R ???) for a Rockford game and then were posting stuff about his wife, and John Jackael was the blogger, and then they started a parody board and talked about him and the Eli & company, there was a clique.

If there is one now I missed it.

I ahve had friends show up and even though they has different opinions were not harassed away from the board.

Too much
I think you have to have the early one this year in a deal, and no Nazar, 2026 #2 and only take Brady w/o the rest.
Florida other Tkachuk deal basically traded two really good players for one Better player....we can count a top 3 pick as one player, and I know they won't take Seth Jones right, even at half CAP? Throw Donato and Kaiser in....

That's what happened to Eli?
Jeez, what in the world..first I heard the story of the "trade rumors" being posted and now this.

And yeah,if there is a clique I'm definitely not part of it.

I didn't go to the RFD game but I am part of that "clique". Don't recall anyone posting nasty stuff about Eli the heel's wife other than maybe she made an unfortunate choice.

While there are always two sides to every story, the thing that I find odd is that anyone with a 3rd grade or better reading education should have been able to tell that JJ was not a "great guy".

I can appreciate he took on the unenviable task of blogging about Hawk hockey; however, the manner in which he addressed people who didn't agree with him should have been a pretty valuable assessment in regard to his character.

I'm sure he treated you pretty well Wiz because you gave him content. In the big scheme of things though, good riddance. Ty, Theo and Zach blogged with a far greater appreciation to those who post here.

Will say it again. Good ole' JJ in a PM to me referred to his posters as ""page views".

Revere him all you want but yeah...not a "great guy".

JJ went to that other site and then I guess he gave up.
If it looked like I was revering JJ, I wasn't.
I just knew there were massive posts from JJ to others that I didn't understand, and that there were so many post between posters that made little sense to me, like person insider jokes.

JJ did tell me about a paraody website, maybe that was what angered him to getting rid of folks.

A lot of us started in the posting column after Tim Sassone's Chicago Herald articles. The Hearls was a suburban Chicago website with the most respected and knowledgable Blackhawk hockey writer. and then someone there had a Canadien Hawk site, I am not sure of the name or if IT was the 300 Level or that came later.

Well granted smaller sample size- but fwiw - I got 2 different Canadian ex-pats I know from work - they adopted me, and made me an honoUrary Canadian - and of course one is from the Trannah area, and the other is from Mon re-al ...

It might be because I started listening to the Hip and talk the Hip a few years ago (because I finally got around to it) - or possibly because I am able to mention that Justin Bieber, Men without Hats, and that guy Corey Hart (who has to wear his Sunglasses at Night) ... are Canadians - that and I never made jokes about April Wine.

I claim as my 'adopted cities, Thunder Bay or Edmonton (ok Edmonton because of the Mall ... and it wasn't Calgary -which had a Subway right next to an 'adultshop' in a strip mall (un-ironically) on the way to Canmore- and Banff NP... way to class it up, Calgary ... just sayin'

But yeh ... never had a problem with Canadians ...

Seth? Ok, are you just playing well when you think there might be scouts watching you? They already did that -it was part of a plot line of a film ... you want to impress someone --- strip off on the ice, and maybe the other team clocks the ref -and they end up having for forfeit --- you'll be on your winning team, and the scouts will get to see ya.

Arty potted a goal for the piggies tonight.
Not sure about his D..but his shot gets through, that alone should do wonders for a young team like the Hocks...when he makes it up here in 2 years

Yup! Good for him.
And talk about turmoil,Cam Robinson posted something that Boeser and the 'Nucks aren't aligning on contract extension #s.
Hocks could offer the Tor 1st + prospect and try and sign him to a nice 4-5 year deal?
Not sure what he's worth on the market, but I like the way he plays.

A report surfaced last night of interest for Blackhawks fans. Daria Tuboltseva of RG Media wrote that Ilya Safonov (stats) plans on leaving the KHL and signing with the Blackhawks after the 2024-25 season ends. In the story, Tuboltseva writes that Safonov’s agent has not confirmed the information sources shared with her. Scott Powers tweeted last night that he had a source deny the report.

Didn't think Safonov would be a guy that CHI brought over. Not really a big scorer over there except for 2022-23. Good size, don't know much else about him. Maybe another log for the logjam.
