Is he a big game goalie? Don't know a ton about him. Great post!
- bhawks2241

He was in the World Jrs, and he had to fill in right away in the playoffs when Bob was god awful.

Whatever his problem was with his mental help, I don't really know so i won't comment, but that coincided with him coming down to earth.

Bob got good again so no playing time.

I still think FL rushed him out of necessity, he should have never been thrown into that at his age.

Count me as a guy who thinks Jones overall hurt the vibe. This guy is a case where no matter how hard I try the eye test tells more than the fancies. Yes he has some solid retrieval and first pass fancies but him and his effort have always been wildly inconsistent but he still gets 26 minutes a night. Much like Brodie it seems he's not held to account for poor play and just gets unearned minutes while a Kaiser, Kusherov and others get benched or sent to RKF. I think that did, and more so lately after Jones speaking in the press, permeate thru the locker room.

The team had a different feel with him out for 8ish games. Lotta jump and effort throughout the lineup, including the ANA game, without Jones. ...... Add we see 3 hungry rookie Dmen in the lineup as a result which overall I think it's better for the organIzation today and moving forward.

This season has sucked but love how they're moving forward and sticking to the plan while adding what might be their future in goal and rookie Dmen throughout the lineup getting valuable NHL minutes with one roadblock removed.

This could end up one of KD's best couple days being GM.

I’ve read he has OCD.

Years ago I worked with a guy, who in hindsight had OCD. Every morning he’d sit at his desk and adjust everything just slightly, his pen cup, his monitor, the stapler, his coffee cup etc.. Of course that became a target, we’d move everything on the desk then sit back and watch as he’d look in absolute terror. We’d kill ourselves laughing as he’d put everything in its rightful place. We had no idea that this was a mental health issue. In hindsight I wish I hadn’t.

Looking good so far. I like how he’s able to make a save and be set for another.

Kid has never been on a team, starting in jrs, where there weren't a bunch of big games played every season. The NTDP plays internationally, WJC games are huge and he won a Gold and Silver, Player of the Yr and goalie of the yr a couple times at Boston College all ther way to Stanley Cup minutes.

Is he a guy who just refuses to allow a goal like Price and Bob have showed? No way to know but like Bedard every step of the way he's dominated. If he doesn't rise to elite status in the NHL it'll be the first time he hasn't since he was 16 yrs old. .... .930 SPG's at every single level.

Totally justified being ecstatic Knight is a Hawk.

Dammit Reichel shoot the puck

It just boggles my mind that he doesn't know when to shoot or when to pass

I really like what i see right now from Knight, the Blackhawks are being very very sloppy in this first period.

Now the team needs a couple of 22-25 year old forwards and then start filtering in the prospects. Offer sheet Knies, Peterka or MacTavish.

Still can't believe we got Knight and a 1st round pick.

For now that's 12 first round picks in 5 years. 5 forwards, 3 dmen with the first 8. At this rate Paul I'm beginning to believe you can build a SC team through the draft if a GM is aggressive enough

I’ve always believed you build through the draft but the draft alone won’t work. You need trades and free agent signings along with good drafting and development.

Time will tell, as always, but like you I still just cannot believe KD rid himself, and his organIzation, of Jones geeting Knight AND a 1st rd pick only having to eat 2.5 per. .... This is the kind of jump forward we've been clamoring for. ... Using KD's words, he checked a lotta boxes with this transaction.

I expected a good amount of pain moving Jones but not only is the pain minimal the Hawks got a legit big time goalie prospect and a 1st.

The only reservation I can dig up is Zito hits grand slams on his moves. An incredible accumulation of what turns out is elite talent. ..... I'll take the shot anyway.

Yeah I saw it was knee surgery, but didn't know if it was on the same knee as last year.

I read it's the same knee.

If Knight realizes his potential it’s a win/win. Jones doesn’t have to be the main guy down there and his $7M cap hit isn’t as onerous.

Plus the Hawks get another 1st. Maybe removing Seth from the room is a net positive as you suggested too.

Saw this quote. Liked it.

“He’s so easy to play with. He’s so easy to read as you get to know him. He can see everything. He has that release that scares teams, and if you get open, he’s going to find you, too,” Donato said.

Don't know what the outcome of this game will be but it's so nice not to see Seth jones coasting around and not having his hockey blade on the ice in his own end.

Slaggert doesn’t quite have the skill. Love his game though. Could be really good 3rd line winger. Fill in top 6 occasionally.

Murphy having a really good game?

Does this take the sting out of passing on Hrabal Rico?

Between that and Jones leaving, I think KD fixed two of the most complained about issues with the Hawks.

Really like how relentless Nazar plays.

I don't know if they can play on same line, but him and Moore on the same line will be a forechecking nightmare for opponents

I'd love for Bedard to just pretend to be Laine for the rest of the year. Get open, shoot puck.
