But you're not originally from/born & raised in Finland. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's similar to all the Japanese baseball players coming over to play in MLB. You don't see them signing with Cleveland/St Louis/Kansas City/etc. They sign in big cities where they can find some similarity to home like LA, SF, Chi, NY, Sea, etc.

So is VA. Lived outside of Richmond for a few years as a kid. Hockey wasn’t huge there and at the time Richmond didn’t have a rink so we’d take a bus to Charlottesville in the wee hours to practice.

The one sheet of ice they did have in Richmond was The Coliseum where the Robins (Flyers farm team at the time I believe) played. We got to play there once before a Robins game which was kind of cool.

Hawks have already made their big splash trade but still could be an entertaining day.

The return for Donato should be similar. He is younger can play center and both wings and also can play in the top six if needed. Very versatile Donato is. Again if Davidson does not get what he is asking for in return for Donato then resign him 3 years 4 million per.

Donato has played well this season. Why would he resign here if he has a chance as a free agent to go to a team that won't finish in the 30s year after year?

Hoping Davidson isn't overplaying the trades and waiting too long. Returns drop late at the deadline.

Somehow they ended up with an offensive zone faceoff late with a chance to win the game in regulation and perhaps ruin Ottawa's season, the coach put Maroon on the ice. Slaggert, Nazar, and Bedard were developing by watching.

Nill is the king of taking advantage of GM's in a bad spot and Carolina doesn't have much leverage per your point. They do have other teams that could pony up more than Dallas. I would say they'd give up Bourque for Rantanen but looking at their roster, they're very thin up the middle after this season as all 3 centers are free agents including Bourque (RFA).

I've said this before, but if I'm CAR, I just keep him, swallow the loss on the trade, and try to win the damn cup. Trying to save face on a trade for a guy like Rantanen when your team is in a good competitive position is just a bad distraction.
