The Sabres acquiring an injury prone perimeter player, does anyone wonder why they can’t take the next step?

For their own underachiever. This trade is a wash, no?

Not me. I’d take Cozens over Norris all day

If it's a straight up trade, Ottawa gets a little bit more cap space.

If you were a GM would you trade for a guy who in six seasons has only played 75% of a season one time! I wouldn’t take a chance especially with a team that can’t afford taking chances.

Kevyn Adams might be the worst GM in the league.

I agree it’s hard to trust that player but it’s much worse taking on a guy who is always hurt.

Lindy Ruff’s system is what sacked Cozens to me. Played well in Granato’s system.

This is Buffalo we are talking about.

Norris has been more productive than Cozens when playing, but yes much more injury prone. He's also paid a little more. If Cozens stays what he is, then I think it's a wash.

If Norris wasn’t injury prone Ottawa aren’t moving him, he a much better player than Cozens.

Senators made a great trade wow! Cozens/Tkachuk tandem is legit
- Assman22

I was hoping the Hawks would get Cozens. He brings some good attributes and fits the rebuild timeline. Sure there’s risk, however with the cap going up it’s a good risk to take.

What the hell happened to Vancouver? I thought they were an up and coming team but the whole thing imploded.

Two top guys started getting pissy with each other. One was shipped out, the other is slumping, their best D is hurt and their goalie of the future has question marks about his future.

I'm not asking this to knock the guy, but is Tocchet still seen as the great coach he was last year?

They over-achieved and were never as good as that one season lead people on to believe IMO.

The only big deal he has to make would be with Donato. Guys like Maroon/Wmith/etc would be last minute deals.

Reading Seravalli he says that talks around Boeser are pickup up (not with the Hawks, just in general). Nothing imminent, but more likely that not Boeser moved before the TDL.

I don't think the Hawks would have anything that would excite VAN enough to trade. They are a point out of the WC with a game in hand. (although, that being the case, why are they looking to trade Boeser?).

Cause he’s a UFA and isn’t re-signing with that clown show they’ve got going on over there.

Ottawa has $1.68 mill in deadline cap space. Still not enough for Donato. Maybe they'll include Highmore or Gaudette to make it happen.

I don't know trading a 3rd line overpaid center for an injury prone top 6 forward, garbage in garbage out.

I do agree Paul i don't like injury prone players but i don't like i got paid so i can take it easy now players either.

But hey everyone lets keep comparing the Blackhawks to the Sabres, neither team traded an overpaid defenseman for a possible franchise goalie and a 1st round pick.

Like they say in 'The Wire'
