When I see a post that I’m not interested in, I just scroll on to the next post. Totem is one of the most informative posters here, if he wants to post tankathon results ten times a day, so be it, and I will follow with my own results. Now back to hockey.
- Angotti

Scroll on or read, it’s a choice we can all make and agree Totem posts some great stuff here.

Also, whether you like something, agree or disagree…it keeps the convo going.

Common sense would dictate that neither San Jose or Chicago get the first pick. My money is on Nashville because they have taken a nosedive. Bettman wants them to remain competitive to keep that market viable.

Improvement is measured by season to season, not game to game. He could actually get worse trying to work on specific areas.
- rpeters01

Now that you’ve cleared that up, I’m interested to see how his game improves after ten games.

Elbows suggested it on the other site and then read that this morning too in BN and I kind of like that vs signing Marner at the top of the market. Marner turns 28 in May so comparable.

You’d have to give up some assets but this is one possible player I think would be worth trading some of them for.

He’d be a great add, but it would cost too much, however it wouldn’t hurt for KD to inquire. He’s actually 28, but will be 29 after the season is over.

Hey paul, off topic, but I just read Tab at Bleacher Nation suggest the Hawks go after Pasternak in a trade. Would you prefer him over Marner? Pasta is signed for six more seasons at $11.25M and turns 29 this May.
- Chunk

What would a trade for Pasta require? Boston is looking to rebuild so they’re going to want draft picks and prospects. Will Toronto and Florida’s first round picks and Nazar get the trade done? Or is that even enough? A good player in his prime under a manageable contract is probably worth allot more. Pasta is still at the peak of his game but what will he be when most of the Hawk prospects are on the team in 2-4 years? I prefer Pasta as a player over Marner but because Marner can be had with just money he would be the better choice.

Personally I’d prefer the team picks up an older player when most of the team is in place and KD understands what he needs to round the team out. I’d much prefer to use those draft and prospect assets to trade for a good two way player in his early to mid 20s.

“I’m not satisfied the way things ended in Chicago,” Toews told The Athletic. “It’s not about proving anything. It’s just that there’s something left in the tank and I want to explore that. I want to go have fun, have a blast, play with passion. But at the same time, I still have some high-level hockey left. I want to be able to step away from the game having said that I’ve given it my all. And I still think there’s something left to give.”

I’d hate to see him on another team. If he’s healthy and can play, he’d be an asset. Who better to teach the kids about playing a 200’ game.

Improvement is measured in many ways and there is no "one way" to do it. Coaches look at things game by game all the time. Sometimes they break things down into smaller spans of games, like 5 games at a time. There is no way they only measure improvement season to season. These young players are changing fast, developing and a month or two can sometimes make a huge difference.

My mind went there but all the reasons they didn’t keep him are still in place and Toews acknowledges that in the article and says he gets it.

In that same article, he basically said that Chicago isn't really an option for him. Close the book, start a new one.

That said, we can still tell if he's a bust after one shift. You can't argue with science.

Arty paired with Martinez at the moment, and manning PP2. I've read rumblings that they may go 11/7, but we'll see.

I think its starts with the Hawks 1st. I would prefer this year's. I would give em both Tor and Fla's 1st. And KK . I think that gets it close.

Would have thought it would be Donato on the wing and JD back in the middle with TT and Mikheyev as the checking line.

TODAY'S TANKATHON

Yes it's a bummer to be reminded every day that CHI is drafting top 5 for the third year in a row. But sometimes these results are interesting.

BOS jumps 8 spots to #1. PIT to #2. CHI at #4.

9 Boston
6 Pittsburgh
1 San Jose
2 Chicago
3 Buffalo
4 Nashville
5 Seattle
7 Philadelphia
8 Anaheim
10 NY Islanders
11 Utah
12 Montreal
13 Detroit
14 St. Louis
15 NY Rangers (to PIT)
16 Vancouver

Would you do the following trade?

To BOS:
2025 1st (CHI, #4)
2026 1st (FLA, top 2 protected)
K. Korchinski

To CHI:
D. Pastrnak
M. Poitras

BOS goes full rebuild with 2 top 5 picks this year. CHI gets Pastrnak to help Bedard and another young prospect.
