Why didn’t Sorenson challenge when Foligno insisted the puck was in the net?

Anyways, doesn’t matter who KD signs in FA or drafts if he doesn’t get the coaching hire correct.

For that matter, ALL the coaches gotta go. Dean, Plante, Sorenson, King.

Hopefully new coach will keep Waite

Vachabear, LAhawk, so many of you posters have going because that was the worst Blackhawk performance, like the coach nhl vets didn't have the plan in place on how to play the Kraken, and the were out-matched.

Sam Rinzel was labeled a wait and see sleeper in high school but still got picked at the #25 slot. Sam will be He's will be rostered sooner than later, and let's make sure Ryan Greene get his name on a contract too.
Sure, his overall success story combines all his positive attributes but I am specifically impressed with his size / strength, more a big man than a piñata when defending.we will hear the trade rumor craziness: Solderblom, Reichel, and one of the young defenders becoming a package for a good rehab second contract kid.

Was that opening fight the Kraken setting the ledger straight from a previous hawk liberty of a Seattle guy?

- wiz1901

My coaching comment had to do with they don't shoot enough. They try to be too cute for an awful team. Shoot more.

Cracks me up. The Hawks go 49 yrs between Cups and a lot of fans can’t wait a couple more years til they get good again. Don’t get me wrong, hope they get the coach right next season and sign or trade for a couple players that make games like last night more the exception than the rule.

I think Wirtz’s ranking is in part that he’s a Wirtz, they couldn’t get the tv deal right and to your point, the impatience of fans.

Yea tv deal was being naive thinking Jerry would have a first class operation. Silly boy

So i thought i would watch my 3rd straight hogs game. Korchinski looked good again, i can see why Rockford is a good place to develop these kids, i think it's great that KK is getting all the 1st unit pk minutes i honestly believe it's teaching him to get better at defense, i wish he would keep his stick on the ice more but i hope that'll come in time.

Allan looked good last night, couple of pinches i don't think he would of gotten away with in the nhl. 2 guys i didn't notice in the beginning of the year are starting to go to the dangerous areas now, Ludwinski and Hayes.

One of Bamford’s articles in BN this am has a link to Elite Prospects and their rankings for top 100 skaters under the age of 23.

KK comes in at 83 preceded by Rinzel (72), Moore (68), Nazar (54), Levshunov (32) and Bedard at numero uno.

Lardis was listed in HM’s.

I did the same. I think the big problem there right now is that there really isn't much talent left and the guys that are playing are career AHLers that play that way.

To your other point, about Ludwinski and Hayes. Ludwinski has been playing like that most of the year. He just hasn't really been able to produce much. They've forced him into more of a defensive role, which I think is probably the right move.

I didn't even know that Hayes was back playing again after spraining his shoulder, but he looked pretty good too. He looks so reedy on the ice, but doesn't seem to get knocked over that easily. Another lottery ticket.

I doubt he'll ever come near the NHL, but Marcel is starting to at least play consistently and use his frame to his advantage. Savoie is going to need to bring his A game more consistently. He's been on/off too much recently.

"You TAlkin' ta me?"

Is the need a nhl experienced coach?
like in Denver's Carle isn't?

I think Sörensen can find a different city, but Rockford would be perfect.
He soldiers through having to have one assistant that was a former Hawk head coah in Derek King, he had a couple former pros as the benchmates in Derek Plante, and morbidly ill Kevin Dean.
These bench coaches are certainly there as seasoned former pros with good ideas so you would think they are only halfway through providing smarts, since half the draftees haven't even gotten to Rockford, let alone on the NHL bench, close enough to these vet coaches to get coached.
So sign Sörensen and assign him to the Rfd Icehogs, maybe when the new head coach wants a certain guy as a Hawk assistant, a guy like Derek King graciously returns to help on the AHL side.
Like everyone here, we want a coach that uses the strengths and tailors the defense and the attack.
You gotta start in the NHL head coach job fill with someone who understands what's in the farm, college, juniors, but most important how you utilize what you are being given upon your arrival.

I don't think he going anywhere but i enjoyed that I got to watch a nice batch of TNT intermission reports and I pretty good feeling as a hockey boy, and then when he got the Canucks' head coaching job, I knew he would shake that style there, but the team, so they back step and it's his team players in the lockey, he didn't mediate nuthin' between Andersen/Miller.

I want the players understanding what they going to face game night and coach the hawk guys strengths in counter-attacking opposition skaters.

I don't even know where you coach down Arty, but the next coach inherits many more personalities than just the guys on the parent club, they get Icehogs and vet coaches to learn to win with all waiting for the "plan."

I can see Korchinski being at the Rock next year for now. I think he's a minus 1 in his last 10 games but i think he still needs improvement defensively and hoping he starts to take over on the PP. He seems not to be aware of his options when he receives the puck, when he looks around things close up pretty quick and he just passes to the side wall.

The group does lack talent and what i find interesting is many of the teams they play against are very physical which i think bodes well for these young prospects coming up.

+/- especially in the AHL, is really pretty useless. There is so little team game outside of a few squads (IMO). I would say that the lack of talent around him is a bigger cause for KK's hesitancy when he gets the puck. Earlier in the year, he'd be making touch passes and other quick decisions and most guys (outside of Nazar and Slaggert mostly) just lost the puck.

KK may startthe year down there simply due to a numbers game and the fact that guys like EDM and Kaiser are just better right now.

Since the Hayes college ufa walk, i am always worried that the Hawk prospects are going to disengage.

The drafting of Bedard convinced me that they ALL wanted to play with him, had faith they were going to help the turnover to the franchises return to the Cup hunt.

The newest wrinkle to my anxiety is the change that allows the CHL kids to go to college.
So let's say they take a Schaefer, Misa, Martone and they decide to go to school?

Yeah, more personal anxiety.

James' represenatation may be talking top the hawks while he goes to his classes, and the hawks want in person press conference to help sales of the rebirth.

I simply have distaste for the CHSN's Pat Boyle. I realize he is more like a fan than any sort of expert.

But, his lack of real hockey acumen throws him to rah rah category...

It started for me with a few seasons ago, when Pat Boyle started calling Drew Comesso the starter of the future…before he had even played a pro game. This never serves any purpose except for the fans who heard THAT back then, now viewing Drew's development as behind, suspect, etc.

Did not expect three pre-games back to see & hear the new “insider” guy (another paid shill along the same lines as the dunb parrot Greek insider guy)and Pat Boyle fill the screen with the next Hawk”dream’ roster.
They decided in 4 minute segment how a) Joe Veleno’s future as a rostered Blackhawk, 2) that the future year’s line included Oliver Moore, and 3) Nick Lardis (whose skating is going to need fixing before he ever scores a Junior sharpshooter goal as a pro).
But my these prognostications seemed small as they then added MAYBE Mitch Marner and Sam Bennett would join the mix, as their names were added to the top forward lines.

This is just too much fan-boy from Danny's TV cable representatives.

Boy, I would love the luxury to have the on air time to spout off my iteractions of improvement.

Maybe, they would have better off screening ticket holders rah rah versions of the future, as it would be genuine fan boys talking, not anybody the viewing audience sees as "in the know", like Boyle and new insider bozo."

Then close to the end of the lasrt home game happens and
now my jaw is to the floor as i hear play by play Joe announce Vlasic and Arty are the top pair of the future, and Vlasic 's peformance that night was full of mistakes different than Arty's lack of structure.

I know part of their job is selling tickets, viewers, but as the years add on, it is tough to keep up the narratives of patience, but again, it is not what I want to HEAR.
I prefer rebuild is happening and it takes time, we want to add more players that you fans will see as upgardes LIKE Frankie Nazar istead.

I really am not concerned at all about college kids signing with the Hawks. I was just surprised that James wasn't yet signed since his season ended. These are still kids and they may have different priorities. Greene could have signed last year and wanted to go back to try and win a championship - and has a decent chance at one now. Maybe James needs time to think about it. He is one year removed from an injury that took most of his season last year.

One thing I would love to see less of is the "Players would love to play with Bedard" angle. Does that really matter to players? I would think chance of winning, location, and pay would outweigh any "I want to play with that guy" feelings. Maybe if it is a brother, but otherwise, I just don't get it. Tavares didn't want to play in TOR because of any player that was there. Rantanen didn't want to play in CAR even with Aho there (and they were competitive).

Yeah, this one:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, his shooting and stick-handling are two areas in which he has improved the most. But his work ethic and tenacity remain the most important aspects of his game.

‘‘To be a guy that can forecheck and turn over pucks and have a good stick and be relentless on the backcheck is something I take pride in,’’ he said. ‘‘And I know I can do it with my skating.’’

James said he has made up his mind about turning pro after this season, and it sounds as though he intends to sign with the Hawks — whom he raved about for ‘‘treating you like a pro in college’’ — even though he could wait until Aug. 15 and become an unrestricted free agent.

‘‘I’m really close with a lot of people in the organization, and it has been great for me,’’ James said, mentioning that Minneapolis-based Hawks development coach Christian Burrus has been his primary contact. ‘‘I would love to [sign with them].’’

James likely will head to Rockford of the AHL in 2025-26 and will have to prove he can develop into an NHL-caliber forward. Such is life as a low-profile, overage prospect.

Then again, he already has demonstrated a proficiency for overcoming odds.
