I'd put my money on Lalonde being the next to go. Stevie Y can do no wrong. Not his fault the rebuild isn't progressing fast enough. - boilermaker100
Probably right, Red Wings stink. It is never the fault of a GM - until it is.
A case can be made for GM firings - Stevie Y, Dubas, Barry Trotz, Sweeney.

Yo jrs fans, heavyweight bout tonight in the OHL as London invades Kitchner, 6:00 CDTpuck drop. Both squads are in the same division and are just shy of playing .800 hockey. If you have a way of watching it it should be the best hockey tilt of the evening at any level and with the Hawks dropping the puck at 7:30 you might catch 2 periods .....
Hawk's 3rd rd pick this yr is playing in Kitchner leaving the BCHL once the NCAA announced that Major Jr kids can now play college hockey. Kid has 4 pts in 2 games since joining the Rangers... Cam Robinson gives him a mention at the OHL site in a kinda preview. https://chl.ca/ohl/video/...-in-chl-game-of-the-week/
Pridham stats. https://www.eliteprospect...layer/826090/jack-pridham - Mr Ricochet

What’s Bruin?9
The Boston Bruins just fired their coach. The team has disappointed after loosing to Toronto in the playoffs and then a horrible start this season. The uninspired play and poor performance shows illustrates that not only is the coach not able to motivate the players, but the talent on the roster overall is just lacking. Which could be a reflection on Sweeney, Bruins GM, inability to maintain or retool a competitive team
This time in the season or at some later point during or after the season could be an opportunistic catch of top Bruins players via the trade route. Who knows what measures Seeeney may decide upon to stop his ship from sinking
I’m not advocating for KD to trade for anyone in particular. If I were Sweeney I would look at my prospects and determine whether they provide much hope and solid input in the next couple years period of time. Sweeney may or may not feel he needs to re-tool with prospects by trading one of his top four players
I am not a rumor monger but just a moment to consider what deals Sweeney could swing?
Maybe Swayman to the Kings. A goaltender and prospects coming back. Would Kings GM feel such an acquisition puts Kings in the mix to beat anyone in the playoffs? - jhawk59
Didn't they get past Toronto and then lose to the Panthers?

When the Hawks get thru the neutral zone with speed they are dangerous. Of course you need quick outs for that to happen which is why it ain't easy.... Guess you can say that about most clubs but especially so with the goal challenged squad. Maybe that's why their goal challenged? |

So if Soda plays well like he has been and the back up goalie we signed comes back from injury do we put Soda on waivers?
I bet he gets claimed by some team - BetweenTheDots
Soderblom is waivers eligible. No sweat.

The problem is that they can’t breakout from the defensive zone to get to the neutral zone with speed. |

Yo Hawk fans, how do you like 20 yr old Duck Dman Mintyukov? Kid was the 4th Dman off the board and 3 picks after Korchinski in the 2022 draft. Just like KK he played 1 yr in MJ after being drafted then played in the NHL as a 19 yr old putting up 28 in 63 as rookie on a bad Duck club last yr.
Watched 2 periods on ANA at DAL and like tonight kid was making plays all over the ice and scored a goal. Last night's goal showed crazy hands as he left the blueline while Zegras was on the sidewall in a cycle and whipped a beauty to Mintyukov in stride at the bottom of the circle and the kid nicely grabbed the thing and from 1ft out roofed a back hander into the top of the net.
And seemingly takes care of his zone well showing overall IQ he looks like a player. The 2022 draft. https://www.eliteprospect...raft/nhl-entry-draft/2022
Ducks are a fun club to watch, especially when McTavish is playing, and with the Hawks playing a solid game this is a good game for the fan........ Hopefully Soderblom can see everything this period cuz he can lock this down for a much needed win. |

Icing on the cake unassisted goal Marcel Marcel
Remember c Guttman? He has played for the Blackhawks a bit. So all those forwards who looked so awful on Sunday in Rockford loss to lowly Wolves….,,well Apparently Guttman and Slaggert are doing well with points tonight in addition to Dach and Nazar. Icehogs leading 5-2.
BTW Seney is a descent AHL forward fringe NHL type |

And therein lies the rub, Lou. That's why I said you gotta have quick and or clean outs to get speed thru the neutral zone getting and odd man situation or attack before the opponent gets their structure.
As the young Dmen play they are getting better and better at triggering.

Pridham with an early goal. - rickboardman
And that goal was a goal scorers goal as the kid showed poise taking a pass at the top of the circle, head up immediately, took two strides of open ice and when he saw the goalie was screened by 2 players nicely dragged the thing while being marked and snapped off a beauty far side that the goalie never saw.
First time seeing the Pridham. I'll be checking in on more Kitchner games for sure.
Edit: Damn that London squad loaded and D!ckinson looks fantastic. I would have been fine with the Hawks taking him, Levshunov or Buium last yr at #2. |

Two teams both rebuilding with promising young talent tonight. Both teams have drafted early first round picks recent seasons.
After tonight victory Anaheim at .500. Blackhawks flailing away as they tumble farther from .500. |

They are bad and worse without Jones. Really had trouble stringing passes and breakouts in the second half. Bring up some rookies (and move some vets)? |

You've seen Pridham before, Paul? Tonight was the first time for me, haven't even seen clips of him. That screaming PBP Guy said he's a blazer. I was lucky enough to see the first 2 periods before the Hawks started and have to admit I wasn't able to see his skating much...... I'll definitely catch more Ranger games.
You've seen enough of his skating to like it?
