Is this team close to becoming irrelevant in the Chicago market? Personally, it's getting unbearable for me to watch for more than a period. Then I switch to a better game that's on the Center Ice package. The CHSN rollout was terrible and prevented a lot of fans from watching the early season games. Now that they are playing terrible who's going to pay $20 a month to watch these guys on their phone or tablet. Also, I think the Bedard hype has worn off. It will be interesting to watch the UC attendance figures in the coming months to see if there is a decline.

Danny Wirtz for the next 10 years only cares about the 1901 project. IMO he has worse problems on the business side of the team than the Hockey side.

He can score and produce more when playing with offensive minded players and playmaking gifted players. He goes to the net, he is an above average shooter, wins faceoffs, wins puck battles and plays a solid defensive game. Talent wise he might be a 3C on some contenders, but he definitely can move up to a 2C role without hurting a team, that's the point. It comes down to the depth down the middle, especially when you are facing injuries in the lineup. You never hear of a team complaining about too much depth at C and guys like Richardinson who can play a role effectively and consistently are valuable, no question. You might not get a 1st round pick for him, but you "could" if he gets scoring more again and follows up on his 20+ goal season. Teams are desperate to win the cup and will pay if it gives them the edge to get over the top.

Well we already know which teams won't give up a 1st round pick, no matter who the player is.

It wasn't long ago that the Hawks took D*ckinson's contract plus a sweetener from Vancouver. The cap hit is even higher now. Any trade discussion would start with retaining half or taking salary back.

I'll let you guys determine if he is as good as Barclay Goodrow, but he was traded by San Jose with a 3rd to Tampa for their 1st and Anthony Greco at a past deadline. Goodrow was only making $925K at the time, also.

Based on comments here, I am saving $20 per month.
Having gone around the sun 64 times, this is the first time for me to be saying that.
And I DO very much blame Comcast for this.

Hawks have 2 retainage spots remaining this year.

IMO Hall will be one, Martinez possibly the other.

I don't think D!ckinson will be on the trade block. Yes he has value, but you also need decent players like him on the team going forward. I can see KD even extending him after his contract is up after next season.

I didn't see the 3rd period last night, but supposedly Bertuzzi sat for most of the period? Bamford speculating he may be scratched the next game.

Wonder what KD has been thinking the past couple of weeks. Will he pull the trigger on a LR firing or make a trade? How long before a veteran like Martinez or Hall wants out? Remember the Hawks only have two salary retention spots so those are the likely trade candidates IMO. Murphy being the only veteran RD available since Jones is out probably stays. Doubt if they trade the captain Foligno. Other guys like Bertuzzi, TT, Mikheyev and Brodie have term. Maroon and Smith may be trade fodder sooner or later too.

That’s sad and unfortunately you’re not alone. While they’re playing much better defense than last year, the offense is stale, they need a change and I don’t mean just lines. I’d bring up Nazar for a few games. Why not? If he’s overmatched after say seven games, you can always send him back down. While Bedard seems to have some chemistry with D!ckinson, the third wheel on that line needs to be upgraded sooner rather than later. Anderson doesn’t do anything for me, he can’t even win a board battle which is at the very least what that line needs from the other forward, I’d try Bertuzzi or Hall there.

Bedard D!ckinson Hall
Nazar Foligno TT
Bertuzzi Kurashev Reichel
Smith Donato Mikheyev

Need to get Hall going to increase the return at TDL.

I just don't see the Blackhawks doing much. They are in line for another top 5 pick. They have a ton of draft capital, if a trade falls in your lap like it did for Florids and Tkachuck make the deal, for now we are in line to draft a highly skilled forward. Nazar will either join this team in the spring or fall. Hopefully Moore and Greene sign, we'll get a chance to see where they are at skill wise in the spring or early next season.

Keep developing the defenseman on the roster and in the system, improve their value so when the time comes you can make a deal for a highly skilled forward.

1-2-3-1-2

I can't see the Blackhawks drafting a dman, unless he's off the charts crazy good.

Yep, the fact that the games are boring and basically defensive oriented lead to me searching out more exciting games. The Hawks have played numerous close games and if they could have scored just 10 more goals this season, they could have changed five one goal losses into one goal wins. The team definitely has to find some offense quickly.

I posted yesterday, other than Nazar, Slaggert and Savoie, there are no other forwards at Rockford that are going to help this team this year.

The Wolves are not good, and players like Dach and Hayes were invisible. Other than that, they have career AHL players.

There are three good defensemen down there right now - Korchinski, Levshunov and Dal Maestro.

Any other forward help that could help this team are at least 2- 3 years away. So I wouldn't get my hopes up I were you.

- dahawks8819

It's funny how Rockford is in a similar position as the Blackhawks. Both clubs just getting an influx of young talent, both clubs struggling to win games. One thing is for sure when i watch the Hogs and Blackhawks the goal tending is better with the parent club because the all around defense is better. It's too bad Brodie does stink, Martinez fell asleep on the game winning goal, but the good news is it's not the kids making these mistakes, it's the vets.

The dog days of the rebuild many losing patience.

Kinda like Bedard D!ckinson Nazar. Let the two youngsters develop chemistry and build some confidence playing wing. Nazar speed will help and its a playmaker that can get Bedard the puck. Start potting some goals. Richardenson can continue to do the dirty work and open up space.

This whole thing is a piece of crap, Craig Button spouting off.

Vlasic and Korchinski play a full season in the NHL on a terrible team and get a B rating. Artyum has never played an NHL game is an A.

But I have learned that Macklin Celebrini after 8 NHL games is the next Wayne Gretzky and Demidov is probably the next Ovechkin.

Hall has to get out of this slump for anybody to take him on at half his $6 mill cap hit. And I don't see a team paying another to broker a deal, either. As I have said on previous threads, the ACL recovery has a big psychological component to it. Plus that shoulder history. It's enough to make anybody wonder about the next contract.

Martinez should be one, assuming he is healthy at the deadline. My dark horse for one of the two slots is Murphy. As always, it depends on his health, and on how much teams need another defenseman.

I wouldn't be surprised if Donato gets asked about, given his start to the year. Coach's son, also.

KD can try to peddle the Toronto first (a late first) plus Mrzak for a middle of round one pick. The idea is whether KD can draft a second player high on their list. Potentially two forwards because it is probably too early to draft a goaltender.

You imagine Lane Hutson in the playoffs? They will destroy him
