If he doesn't have speed which IDK? We don't need another bottom 6 player. - rpeters01
Pharand’s skating is ok, he’s got a reasonable shot, he passes the puck very well. He sees the ice pretty well. His effort from game to game is inconsistent and he doesn’t use his size very often. We saw Crevier improve dramatically this season from last, so perhaps Pharand is a late bloomer? If the Blackhawk professional contract numbers aren’t close to 50 I think it’s probably best to sign him and see if he can improve his game. |

I do think their scouting department is keeping close tabs on all their prospects and more. They've got till June to sign him.
We'll know soon, they didn't waste any time signing Moore, Rinzel and Harding. - BetweenTheDots
Would be crazy fantastic if a guy like Harding turned into Bufglyien. |

Hawks have all sorts of darts. Add a blue chip forward to the mix and things look awfully nice. - bhawks2241
A blue chip center with some size would be what the doctor ordered. Maybe they already have that in their system or they draft Misa. |

The Hawks play the Penguins twice and the Bruins once coming up, would not be surprised if they win two of those games. That pretty much secures the second best odds in the lottery, as it’s very unlikely they’ll end up with fewer points than the Sharks. |

Stop it. And I'm the guy 25 games in LAST yr that said this kid is exactly what a jrs hockey player looks like before he is benched then watched 64 posters come screaming to his defense. Don't see much of that anymore. ..... Remember, 2241?
I anin't no scout but have had my eyes on live jrs games for 15 yrs. Don't need to be a scout to make that observation.
I'll say this, Rinzel was damn scary bad defensively as an 18 and 19 yr old in the USHL. But 2 yrs with 1st rate coaching at WTL of the USHL and 2 yrs at U of MN and you see the kid now! ....... He took the coaching, stayed in the USHL another yr after being drafted then stayed 2 yrs at U of MN instead of 1, was honest with his own game and you see him now.
Someone did get to Bedard though. I posted after his first preseason shift when the kid stuck his nose in at his OWN endwall instead of hanging at center ice waiting for "someone else" to get him the puck that he's different than last yr. Then as the yr went on posted I've never seen the kid below both endlines on the SAME shift and see that most every game this yr when I never ever ever saw him do that last yr.
I've found that is a tell watching jrs kids live for 15 yrs. .. Someone got to the kid at 19, you can't be on the ice for 100 goals while giving up 200. He's trying but he stinks without the puck and 75% of the time with it and is so far behind in so many ways. Kid is literally learning things they teach 8 yr olds..... But that shot!! Never saw anything like it. - Mr Ricochet
Bedard has studied the book Patrick Kane wrote on Playing Defense. Float around the blue line. Make your teammates cover your ass because they never know where you are going to be or who you are going to cover, if you cover anyone. Conserve energy by coming back at half speed. Make soft, risky, dangerous passes at the opponent’s blue line. |

Will be interesting to see where Moore and Rinzel start the 25/26 season. My guess is if it's RFD their call up will be like Nazar's was this season and they won't look back. - hawkinthed
I think Seravalli might be right on Rinzel though. I guess it's too early to tell but he hasn't looked out of place to me at all.
Moore showed up and made a better forechecking Hawk team. He's look won't end soon or in Rockford, this year because it would take a massive reverse in what he showed so far that indicate he won't fit now, well because he does.
I am still wondering on the Dominic James signing, or lack there of.
And I guess the taste in his mouth after his final collegiate playoff this season will determine if Ryan Greene sticks around captaining Boston U. and get some ice time in with newly transferred Sacha Boisvert?
Seravalli should be. commended for hearing the scuttle on #6 San Rinzel. Darren Pang's retelling of the one of the opponent guys was calling to Murphy between play, asking whoo is the six?' But Murphy didn't hear it, but Pang did. And if an opponent is asking, there is already an impression that Rinzel is a man now who put in the work to be solid pro, eliminating the boom or bust tag by developing the proper habist and tract to be a competitor in the bigs, and maybe just maybe a big time add.
#6 is extremely cool and pretty confident in his passes & transition carries and oh, the feet and his big man agility!
That is not to say I like every part of how Colton Dach transformed his mindset and embrace his team role 'til his dust up.
Kaiser is impressive showing how quick the newbie Blackhawks can come through middle zone to entry.
Vlasic is not a small strider, either. DelMastro is no slug.
My apologies by bypassin' Louis Chevier b/c there is always a job rounding out the corp with guys who embrace their minutes, are all teammate, and ready to jump up and shoot, b/c he feels he can.
And without finding an encouranging thought for Arty would be degrading.
I cannot ignore that he has brought THE most fun viewing for me.
Would the head coach comng in going to announce that Arty Levshunov will be in the program under the posiition of rover?
I tend to see that the team doesn't want to stifle he take-charge intentions, because we all know he wants to shoot, he wants to carry, he wants to wrest the bisquit away from them, he wants to use his feet and quickness, but, so far, it simply exposed his lack of misunderstanding what 5 player unit wants to do with it. It goes beyond defensive pairs and a lot more than the "Martinez man down" fill in with another new defensive pairing.
There is a whole lot not understood that must be there for Arty to see himself, as he ready to skate in close on anybody for a possession change.
I liked that Arty just was turned loose, as the team show quicker reactions when all join in on "movin', movin'!
Let him cavort all over the sheet if it feels good, but then they build that corps, where they all play to their strengths and know how they're going to win as a team.

yeah, why not?
he is good in the dot, the Pk, and is hockey smart.
I have been spending most of the last weeks not posting but watching the playoffs that have Hawk kids...it is fun that we have some more coming.

Kid is making skill plays all over the place. Rinzel is showing as much or more poise than Vlasic who is probably better than we all realize.
I planted my flag on Kaiser his first NHL game cuz I saw his first USHL game. Kid Just. Makes. Plays. And always has. Period. .... I doubt we realize how interesting 6ft 8in Crevier is to the NHL types.
As great as Rinzel has looked, Artie is more powerful in every aspect of the game.
- Mr Ricochet
It is about how one US kid from Minny can decide to keep working at it so that his introduction is one where Rinzel looks confident, hockey smart and knows the team game of hockey from when he started playing improved as a collegiate and is comfortable...with his size, positioning, transition and how to attack.
And another kid bails out of the Belarus Vysshaya, goes across the seas and wins an uphill battle to make himself a relevant in the draft boards at #2, and there isn't the thick indoctrination into a CHL or USA junior program that the kids here have.
That seems to be the biggest deficit in my view...
Arty has confidence that has shown quite the opposite, as he in "every aspect of his feet, size, and abilty to engage" is powerful, and the ease at which he could dominate is pretty clear, but kid probably would have learned more at Michigan State, but he didn't want to be a student...and Rockford didn't shake his idea that he can do anything out there, out-play, beat opponents to pucks, make that pinpoint pass, etc., but he is far from polished in setting any limitations in the bigs and that is going to continue to be a deterent, with more head coach in game counseling that they are going to be giving him until he knows where he goes, and finds a niche for just how much he "extends" his superman cape out there. |

Still hiding behind all the other D prospects is Nolan Allan. Liked his game in the WHL and he seemed to enjoy rubbing guys out on the boards; but probably won't be a great offense guy ever. Though he would need 2 years in the AHL but played some in the NHL this year and is even a little ahead of schedule.
Not sure he has a spot but don't know what he would bring in trade. Think he will be ready for NHL time soon if he can keep improving.

I see that the Hogs only have one RH drfenseman on their roster currently. Which side is Allen playing. If he could show he can play both, he could be a valuable asset on their roster currently back-end |

I don't think Arty didn't want to spend another year in school, i believe when he was being interviewed after he was drafted he came right out and said i will do whatever the Blackhawks think is best for me? He did admit he didn't care for school but i believe he meant classes not the hockey program.
I do admit he's raw but even so i don't think it's as big a consequence as having Seth Jones on the ice. Is he done in Rockford i doubt it, same can be said about Korchinski right now. |

If this didn’t come from Pope’s X account, I would believe he didn’t say it. What is more sad is I don’t think he was good st development in Rockford either.
Anders Sorensen admitted yesterday he's losing sleep about the Blackhawks' lack of wins lately. He talked today about how much more focus there is on wins and losses — compared to player development — in the NHL vs. the AHL.
"Obviously, results are not going the way we want them, but we get asked about it constantly." |

Still not as bad as the WSH crew I listened to on Friday. At the end of a pretty even first period the Caps version of Caley said that the Caps “dominated that period”.
Sure they did.
That D crew is looking good. Agree with Wiz and posted in the other place that I think their top 2 pairs to start next season are 72 and 6 and 44 and 55. |

Also, Frank Nazar is pretty good at hockey. It’s wild the amount of youth in the lineup to end the season vs the start. Next season might translate to playoffs but if this plus a solid fwd addition or two is the lineup they are icing next season, most night’s should be a fun watch. |

I wonder what Bedard is thinking going into the offseason. If they resign Donato, Bedard might be the Hawks 5th best forward after Nazar, Donato, Mikheyev and TT. And if the Hawks sign a top tier forward…. And draft Misa …….
I still think Bedard is very good. But as a wing and PP specialist. Could be a point per game. Even 0 to minus 10 plus minus. Like Kane, but not nearly as determined.

They need more talent. Scotty Bowman with Q as his assistant won’t do much with this roster. |
