Sure but they had a stud like Pietro on the back end, btw top 4 pick, not seeing any stud like that on their blue line for years now. Oh yea and he went to Vegas and they have a shiny trophy to.

It is a team that does draft well, I'm hoping the Blackhawks have become one of those teams.

Just going through the roster: https://www.hockey-refere...e.com/teams/STL/2025.html

Thomas late 1st, Kyrou 2nd round, Holloway offer sheeted, Buchnevich acquired for Blais and a 2nd, Schenn cost two firsts, Neighbours late first, Parayko 3rd round, and so on.

Doug Armstrong will go in the HHOF someday as an exec. That "one and done" year, he fired Yeo and brought in Berube and they went from outhouse to penthouse. I remember thinking they let Backes go and got rid of that roller derby fourth line of Reaves, Lapierre, and Ott, and that had to have made a difference.

He's done very well, i guess my point is this, imagine if the Blues did what the Blackhawks did and blew it all up, Armstrong with picks in the top 7 for 4 years in a row, in total 12 first round picks over 5 years, all those 2nd and 3rd round picks the franchise would end up being a beast. Just saying

Korchinski looks like a forward trying to figure out how to play defense. I'm hoping he turns into Duncan Keith 2.0, but it's looking more like David Runblad.

I'd like to say Soup Campbell.

Not a gambler, but if I had to bet, I would bet Rinzel will start next year with the 'Hawks and stay up.

Same goes for Lev. KK has an outside chance depending on his offseason. Kaiser, EDM, Crevier and Allan are trade bait. Possibly KK as well but I do think he will develop into Brian Campbell by the time he's 25.

I don't think EDM is going anywhere. It'll have to be a quality trade offer to pry him away from the Blackhawks, he's showing some excellent traits as a NHL defenseman. He's got top 4 written all over him.

I don't disagree but I think he's behind the other guys (Lev, Rinzel, KK and Vlasic) and we'll have to give up something to get something as LAHAWK said if we don't want another Jokiharju Nylander trade. Anyway, it's not a stretch to say at least two young D men of some combination get moved over the summer.

He’s def not behind KK. Also, with two offensive guys already pegged for 1st/2nd pairing, KK’s ceiling with this team might be 3rd pairing.

I don't think KK is worth nearly as much as he'll be worth in two years. Campbell was listed 5'10" 190#, KK listed 6'3" 185#, Campbell played up to his height/weight, KK does not right now. But it took Campbell a long time to become one of the higher paid defensemen in the league.

I see KK listed as 6’1” 185# on two different sites, I also recall reading somewhere that he was 6’2”, so who knows, but bottom line is that he needs to add 12-15#. He can skate and he is tape to tape on his passes, just needs to add some weight/muscle so he can handle the defensive side, if he can do that in the next year or two, he’ll be a decent NHL defenseman. From what I’ve seen the last couple of weeks(small sample)the Hawks should end up with a very good defensive group, however at this point I’m not sure that they have enough high end talent in offensive prospects. Hopefully the four first round picks in the next two drafts will solve that issue.

He is bigger and more mature (older) but they have different skillsets/strengths.

Going to be interesting to see how it shakes out over the next couple seasons and you could see KK paired with Rinzel or Lev too. A lot might depend on the next coach. We saw a guy like Allan opportunity under Richardson, but then struggle a lot under Sorensen. Lots of promise from the 19-20 year old D here on the back end.

The encouraging thing about KK is you can see him focusing on the things we know were feedback for him.

I know many are in a hurry to win, but let this develop, i see GMs so quick to try to win and they just give away young premium talent, and some GMs seem to just make a deal too make a deal.

I think there's also a reason they have been playing EDM and Allan on their offsides.

Nothing wrong with letting KK develop his game at the Rock next year same with Arty as Vlasic, EDM, Kaiser, Crevier, Murphy, Rinzel, whoever earns a stint in the NHL to keep playing in the NHL.

I'm not saying KK is going to be a premium defenseman in the league, but in a rebuild you better be damn sure he won't become one in the league because the org had no patience.

I remember when we had a young Dman who struggled to get top 4 minutes through age 20-22. Played 122 games, put up 27 points and was -8. He is now 28 and a 23 minute a night top pair D on a Stanley cup winning team and +90 over the last two seasons.

No doubt bread, however this time around you have numerous young dmen, and eventually they wont be able to go back down to Rockford because you’ll lose them through waivers. One or two will have to be moved, hopefully KD gets a good return. After Arty, Vlasic, and Rinzel, I like EDM the most, he brings that defensive mentality and is a better skater than I thought he’d be. That could turn out to be an awesome top four. KD needs to find a 2nd line center with size and in a couple of years the Hawks will be very difficult to play against. Sure they need to find another top six forward, however that second line center will be the hardest to acquire. Someone that we like will be moved, have to give to get.

Although they just set EDM back to the Rock - guess not going to use him the last 3 games, and get him in synch for playoffs in the AHL. Don't mind Ethan --- nice big bammer type. As a bull in the china shop type, I don't fancy the china's odds

You’ve been wrong on numerous occasions using Google, maybe you should stop using it. The official Chicago Blackhawks website says he’s 6’1 185.

He was also dumped by the Canes and was likely going back to EU before FLA put a claim in on him and got him some run with good players.

This is part of the argument that I make when I say the Hawks can’t just wait for the kids to create the winning culture. You need more guys that know what it’s like to win (now not 10 years ago).

I don't really agree with that, i think one you need greater talent, good coaching and when i say good coaching i also mean development, building good habits listening and learning from your own mistakes, as a pro with more minutes played the individual becomes more and more consistent, and if all the players do their own jobs and get rid of their own bad habits and are more talented then their opponent, and if this collective works as a team, that's how you become a winning team. That's why Foligno is the C, he is another coach on this team trying to drive home this concept to these kids.

Aidan Thompson just signed, so I guess the rumors that he wasn't interested didn't have any weight to them.
