Says he was born in Davos, Switzerland. What part of Russia is that?

There were four hosts of The Hollywood Squares. The host I recall well is Gary Marshall. He had a son with a different last name who toiled briefly for the Chicago Cubs played first base I believe. Challenge if you know who the ballplayer’s name is. Cmon’ Steve Rain and 6628 you can remember this. Oh you too Wiz

Gary Marshall was Penny Marshall's brother- I think you're thinking of Peter Marshall - father of Pete LaCock.

Technically Pete LaCock was Peter LaCock Jr - Marshall being a stage name. Also before it comes up Allen Ludden was married to Betty White --something to do with Wisconsin -and ok I had to look it up Mineral Point Wisconsin ... a bit west of Madison (did a lot of lead mining there in the 19th Century)... since we're talking about game show hosts of the 1970's.

Before Slaggert there were Entwistle and Johnson. You see what happened to them.

I love our little place here. Slaggert played like 4 games and we've established his ceiling is Entwhistle and Johnson.

Well, if you were a real BOD poster you'd have known the second you saw him near a sheet of ice that he was useless. Four games...Ha!

You are half English, and half German.

The only real Americans are the American Indian, contrary to what MAGA white people say......

Everyone else are descendants from migrants. Hmmm, irony

- dahawks8819

According to this I guess my parents should've been feeding me Schnitzel and Lutefisk as a kid and Paul's Schnitzel and Mushy Peas instead of Backbacon.

I prefer to be referred to as a carbon based lifeform. Good day to you sir!

So you are saying the American Indian was created here. They did not migrate here from Siberia as other fairly highly regarded scientists have postulated based on cultural, morphological and genetic similarities between American and Asian populations.

Some of us can remember The Rolling Stones Faces album from circa 1978. It had the cut out picture of faces like whatever it was three or four rows, columns

It was a famous album particularly after a lawsuit and future album cover had blanks for the pictures

Well if it was a matrix and the faces changed after doing some mathematical add and subtractions

But instead of The Rolling Stones
Update 2025/2026 The Blackhawks roster
All the new faces

Late add: think of a matrix or this way as well: The Hollywood Squares long running game show with its matrices (because the stars who answered the questions was an ongoing changing cast of faces) To those who don’t know about the show, it was a tall frame building front with no wall in front, just an open air front with a podium or piece of furniture with the stars of Hollywood each having their own frame like a three or four story building. They had to answer the question, true or false and could give a false narrative. Paul Lynde the comedian was a staple on the show with his wise cracks

Do you think that his ceiling is higher than Arty’s? Have not seen him, however from highlights and scouting reports, I like Martone and Misa with the first pick. All things being equal, you draft defense and center, but man, Martone is a beast.
- Angotti

I like Arty a lot but yes, Schaefer > Arty. Top four picks are golden.

OK. His parents are Russian and was born in Switzerland. So he is Russian descent and holds Swiss/Russian citizenship I would guess.

I can't confirm, but he likely lived in Switzerland all his young life where he probably played in Swiss pee wee leagues and lower leagues. Then eventually signed by a QMJHL team and played in Canada for a a few years before drafted by Chicago where he played for Rockford for a while.

But he's a bad defensive player because he has Russian blood in him. Got it.

Speaking of former Cubs first basemen with Hollywood connections, Chuck Connors, the actor from the old TV series The Rifleman, was a Cubs 1st base prospect in the the early 1950's.

The Rolling Stones had an orange vinyl record too
Another cool vinyl record was the Deep Purple more of a lavender color
But the absolute best album cover back in those days was Boston’s spaceship which upside down was a guitar! And btw there were picture vinyl records like a picture of a Car on a 45 record by of course the group The Cars. In the mid to late 70’s disco infiltrated rock music market but who can forget bands like Kansas, Bad Company, The Who, Led Zeppelin while some people liked the sort of freaky Ozzy Osborn. You had disco demolition at Comiskey Park between games of a doubleheader of course The White Sox never played the second game. Years later Steve Dahl put up stay off the grass signs when a neighbor had an estate sale and he often was seen giving the finger to drivers on the Stevenson Expressway - he lives in Western Springs. In those years the Blackhawks drafted first round picks like Savard, K Brown and T Higgins. Right about this time wiz started his prospect reports!

People are not native to the Americas in general. Or Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific Islands or Asia for that matter.

Between 16,000 and 30,000 years ago people walked or took a boat to the Americas so pretty sure that everyone is a "migrant".

Other than Africa no one is really "native" to anywhere so were all kind of in the same boat.

TNT studio co-host Paul Bissonette got into a fight at a Scottsdale restaurant the other night. Here's his version of the event. Studio show on TNT should be fun tonight.
