Makes me wonder if it's a package deal with DOC and Pettersson being discussed. I know Vancouver was highly interested in Pettersson. I think trading DOC is a pirates type of move. You develop him into a good player then you trade him? Wouldn't make sense to trade him. I feel like you keep him and sign him to an extension

I cant imagine that Crosby is going to want to spend the last 3 to 4 yrs of his career playing meaningless hockey. Its 2 yrs of missing playoffs already with many more ahead. He is too competitive for that.

Everyone thinking the Pens will recall another prospect if Lizotte is out are going to be disappointed when it's just Nieto.

This is why I was surprised he signed that deal. There’s a solid chance they miss the playoffs for that duration at this point. IMO it’s sad to watch.
