The Flyers knew two things about Andrae, jack and poop. And jacks left town. He only played due to injury and they had no choice but to give him a long look. Same as always. - StepfordSam
It’s on record the Flyers passed on Zeev Buium because they believed in Andrae. I agree that Andrae is only on the team due to injury and should have beat out Zamula during camp but Andrae was the next man up and he’s here now. |

Don’t know, I think all management comes in knowing they have guys that are close to other guys, they know injuries will happen and they know the guys that are close will get a shot, Andrae is taking full advantage |

briere said they didn't go with buium because they had york, drysdale and andrae. and folks laughed. now andrae seems to be looking pretty good. small sample size but maybe they know their players a little bit better than we do.
same goes for why attard (and to a lesser extent, ginning) didn't play much here. just because we didn't see what we had in them at the NHL level doesn't mean the flyers staff didn't have a good idea based on watching them with LHV, at practice, training, etc. every day. - black_francis
They should have drafted Helenius |

It was widely known Andrae was a first call up right out of camp. In fact Andrae should have went to Vancouver with the team the moment news broke Seeler hurt his toe. |

one thing I've been super curious about is the Zamula interview he did in Russia(?) where he supposedly told mgmt that he either wants a spot on the roster or he's going home? does anyone have a link to this? |

At this point, I don’t care what they do with Zamula. When he plays, I think he should get 14 minutes max and zero PP time. |

probably
there's potential for a ton of movement this year/TDL/draft. Jiricek's name pops up, haven't watched him much honestly.
is there a roster player on minny that makes sense for us? or would we be moving guys for draft capital? |

Anyone worth while on Minny they are probably keeping. They have the buy outs coming off but do have to pay Kaprizov shortly too. If anything I would think they are trying to add |

whether by design (probably not) or just pure happenstance - i think and hope this team grows as a group after "surviving Torts" together. almost doesn't matter who the next coach is, they'll play for 'em

if Minnesota is indeed interested in Farabee and Brink (not saying I'd move them, but for the sake of argument) what does that return look like? i don't know which direction briere goes. |

Flyers need to hit on a number one center, defenseman and goaltender. They need to properly develop depth players instead of signing bums. They need to get ahead on who they believe their next captain might be in 5 to 7 years from now. I have some optimism in Oliver Bonk, Denver Barkey, Jett Luchanko and Noah Powell but they need much, much more. |

People see what they want. As you said if not for injuries he is still toiling for the Phantoms.

It’s not like either player has superb value , I’m not sure. I can’t see a first round pick for either guy |

Not becausr they believe in Andrae, but because they have similar players in physical stature (York, Andrae, Drysdale).
*theyve always held him in high regard* |

Its like Bill & MJL were attached at the hip. 🤔🥸 - THE EVIL WITHIN
I'm actually happy MJL is not on, all he does is complain and call ppl names if they don't agree with his opinion, he completely has zero understanding of hockey, and lots of things that can be hidden from stats and that stats don't tell the whole story |

Yes, it's been so nice to come on here and not have to scroll through pages of complaints and insults. I'm sure he will be back at some point so let's enjoy the peacefulness while we can.

He actually knows a lot about hockey. And its easy to attack him when he cant fight back. Yeah he can get grating, but his name seems to be on a lot of people mouths even when he isn't around.
He gets insulted just as much as he insults. Case in point above.
