Yeah, I was joking. I don't think they intentionally tanked by signing Grz knowing he would suck, but since it's not clear to me why they thought he could shake off sucking last year and play top-4 mins with us, then I was joking that maybe it's part of a master plan to get the next generational players. I think they just totally misjudged the player, similar to Graves.

Same guy that thought Beau might be able to fill a top six role to replace Guentzel? Tank or too full of himself are both possibilities. I don't know how he convinced Sid they're trying to win.

As a guy that wore misfits and Iron Maiden shirts to a ton of hippie music festivals as a young lad because of drugs, my friends and hippie girls were a weakness of mine. I agree.

Same guy that also came in and intentionally made a point of having an all defensive bottom 6 his first year... then wanted Bunting included in a deal for the best player at a trade deadline and still couldnt get a 1st... There is a really strong (or weak depending on how you look at it) trend to be seen already.
Just makes it worse when there was guys like PO Joseph thats 6 years younger signing for under a mill sitting right in your lap compared to 2.75 for Gryz

Have you seen Sid play lately? He knows they aren’t trying to win.

I love how the title of this blog is “No body’s fooling you but you”. The it says things like Anthony Beauvillier was signed to be a deadline trade. Sounds like RW is just as fooled as anyone.

With 20gms in the books, we're getting to the point where it's no longer "early" in the season. 17pts out of 40 max for P% of .425 & a mere 2pts away from a WC spot. What isn't clear, is whether this team is chasing a WC spot, or vying for top 5 lottery. If the Org. has playoff aspirations, they're going to have to boost their P% to roughly .612 (or getting 76pts from 124 remaining) to get around 93pts. Right now their P% is tracking for a 70pt season (which would be good enough for top 5 lottery last yr).

But nothing on-ice suggests an ability to improve their P% rate (~12pts every 10gms played). They give-up 3.5GA p/60 at 5v5. This group is old and slow, and can no longer play Sully's system with any advantage to them. Like pens4life-66 mentioned, they do not defend in a 5man unit and they're a very easy/ soft opponent to play against. Then, throw in subpar net-minding. Minus the hockey ops/ tix sales hoodwinking, what is the realistic goal for this group?

Up is down. Down is up.
