This is what I am hoping. Who that is I have no idea. I don't think a draft pick would be in play because you aren't getting a 1st for him.
I also feel like sitting him is counterproductive. Torts can't sit him for the reasons he lists and then not sit Poehling, Laughton or even Cates. None of them are producing. They are struggling for offense and regardless of how Frost has been playing he is the best option at center for producing offense. Torts also can't say others are playing better so he needs to wait his turn. Nobody ahead of him has earned their spot at his expense. - MBFlyerfan
Poehling, Laughton and Cates are bottom 6 forwards, they neither have the skill or capability to produce offense like Morgan can. Morgan is being sat because frankly he was not playing well, in ALL aspects of the game. The fact that Morgan can come into a contract year and not have his A game consistently is astonishing to me. He'll be in against Chicago, let's see if can help with puck possession and generate scoring chances. The Flyers have been getting caved the past few games. |

Since farabee seems to be an odd man out here would you trade him to Buffalo for Byram?
I have no idea why torts and DB would trade the only LW that we have but this is boneheaded torts that were talking about - Bob Habib
Farabee for Helenius is the better deal that Buffalo may consider. Flyers may have to add a sweetener but not much. |

Yeah, we get that. And no one disputes that despite how many times you bring it up.
But he shouldn't have been out multiple games in light of the play of the other centers on the team.

Frost has been given quality wingers. It isn’t all on the coach. Frost has played poorly and the coach hasn’t handled this the proper way.
Both can and are true. |

So Laughton has been playing well 5v5 last two seasons? Ryan P is playing well? Cates is putting up the points. Its a standard alright, its a double standard.

But did you notice them? The standard is the level of notice. Notices/60. Production be damned. |

Tippett, Farabee and Foerster also haven't been playing well. All season. They don't get the same treatment that Frost gets. Pretty much all of the Flyers young forwards have been struggling offensively at 5 on 5, including Michkov. They continue to play with a few exceptions, such as when Michkov sat a couple of games. It is also false that Frost was not playing well in ALL aspects of the game. He was producing well on the PP.

I don't think he's benched because he's not playing well. I think he's sitting because Tortorella thinks Frost isn't a serious player. In Tortorella's mind Poehling plays hard so he can overlook the results, but Frost is a naturally gifted goof off and just isn't asserting himself. Maybe he's right? IDK. Seems to me benching him isn't doing a damn thing to make him a better player. Maybe it's on the player? Maybe it's on the coach? The real failure is all this futzing around. Figure out what you're doing with the guy. Stop jerking him around. Make a decision. Play him or move him. |

Seems to me like a clone of Jett Luchanko. Undersized two way center who is good at everything but doesn't excel at any one area. If the Flyers are going to trade Frost, I wouldn't mind it. I don't see Buffalo making that deal though.

I agree. Frost has not played well and seems to be a slow starter. Then all the line changing started and everything snowballed. Reality is that every young player on the team is struggling offensively. Frost is not stupid and he knows that Tortorella does not like him as a player. That pressure along with being in a contract year has to have an effect. The thing that Frost needs is to be put in the lineup and a coach that supports him and treats him fairly. I don't see that happening here.

Tells the story, Torts ego tells him his punishment works
John Tortorella on Morgan Frost:
"I think he's going to be in tomorrow. I'm really anxious to see him play. I hope he answers, he did last year."

It would be great if Danny traded Frost and fired Tortorella on the same day. |

Once Frost is moved will be real interesting seeing the Flyers version of where it went wrong.
Is there more to this story? |

It's very rare for Tortorella to speak and actually be genuine and not be manipulative. He's not anxious to see him play. He's anxious to see him gone.

Maybe he smiles too much? Who knows with Tortorella. I'm not really a fan of Frost's, but you've got to admit Tortorella's methods can be confusing for some players and Frost does seem to be unfairly singled out by him. |

Seems to be only one way he can think of. Shouldn't the coach have more in his arsenal than a whip? |

Tortorella has long been out of bullets in his coaching arsenal. The game has long passed him by in my opinion.

Hayes being lazy is as bad a false narrative as you can find. Neither one was lazy. |

Torts know the only way to win is to have grinders play a superior structured game, he sees his boys as being able to do that, so their mistakes don’t bother him as much, all EGO. |

It’s one of the biggest false narratives in the history of the team. Right up there with Matt Carle being a poor D man. |
