Yes. That's why teams do weird things like put players on conditioning stints or scratch them, but keep them on the team/roster. Once you're back to the CHL, you're stuck until it's over. Same with the NCAA etc. Pro leagues like the SHL/K/liiga can loan players back, but that's pretty rare.
Also I should have mentioned that he could be called up on an Emergency Basis, but that would be highly circumstantial and would be like how Cush could be signed to play goalie for one game because Stolarz and Woll died in the hallway as they were entering the building and he was standing there in the stands. - AdamFrench
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I haven’t been on here in a few days as my Father in law is visiting and we did a big US Thanksgiving day / spread and am playing catch up now.
Thanks for the laugh! I figure I’d be pretty solid if I got the nod.
To cover the first 5 min of warmups. 🤣
I mean I’d be gassed and tell the trainer to have the AED on standby but I’d be solid.
Poop can be solid also. Just saying.
My US Thanksgiving spread probably is like Jr hockey 4th line scrub compared to the NHL superstar quality spread I assume Galactic Stoner and Sklappy put on but it was tasty.
Slow cooked (9 hrs smoked) Brisket, Mac & Cheese, a tater tot casserole, corn casserole, buns for Brisket sandwiches with coleslaw and cheese.

I don't know, but that looks pretty damn good. I'd gladly swap that brisket for our turkey!
Semi-related note : take some brisket and short-rib meat, grind it up and make it into burger patties and cook them on the grill. The resulting burgers will make you punch your mamma.
PS - what's in the tater tot casserole? My curiosity and stomach is interested.

Thanks man!
Oh our butcher makes brisket burgers and I’ve bought them and smoked them, but of blue cheese, onion and mushrooms on those bad boys. Insanely good!
Tater tot casserole was new this year. Bag of frozen tots, cream of mushroom soup, cheese, fried crispy onion on top. I may have forgot something but my wife made it and I really liked it. Potatoes without them being heavy like a mashed with gravy (but I still love me some garlic mash with gravy).

The Rangers are an interesting story. About a week ago the Rangers were 12-6-1 but had just been handed a 6-2 loss to Edmonton after dropping a game in Calgary 2 days before. So basically on the morning of November 21, the Rangers sat 12-4-1 and were 7th in the league. 2 losses later and the GM publicly says he wants to trade captain Jacob Trouba and assistant Chris Krieder.
Since then they have lost 3 more games, making it 5 consecutive - and that includes losses to St. Louis and Philadelphia. NMow they are 12-9-1 and sit 16th.
If you look at the Rangers this year, sure they had a relatively easy start to the year - but they were at least outplaying the opposition in most games.
Since Drury opened his dumb face the Rangers have been badly outplayed in their last three games.
Is it a funk or did the GM just throw a hand grenade into the locker room and slam the door?

Tampa vs. Toronto opposition report :
Second game of a back-to-back for Tampa, who played Nashville last night. Vasi got a true night off and stayed home while the team traveled to Nashville. He was chased from the net in his last game against the Leafs, so expect him to be at the top of his game. He usually brings 110% in those followup games after he previously poop the bed. If he gets a little puck luck, this might be a game where the Buds get goalied (let's all hope not).
Leaf-killer Nick Paul is still listed as day to day and has missed several games. If he doesn't play, the Lightning's lack of center depth will be exploitable. Rookie Geekie has filled in decently at center, but makes rookie mistakes and could get killed if Berube manages to get the right matchups on the fly.
Cirelli is on a bonafide heater and is playing career hockey. He took a puck to the face last night, got stitched up, put on a full face shield, and came back to score. Him and Hagel have great chemistry and we'll get a preview of what game they will bring to the 4-Nations.
Point came back from injury on fire. He literally has flames coming off his stick. You gotta smother this guy or he'll make you pay. Best transition player and best puck carrier the Lightning have. Shut him down and you're 75% of the way to beating the Bolts. His backhand is crazy accurate. At first, I thought he was just getting lucky on backhands over the last two seasons, but it's obvious it's not luck any more. Dude can pick a spot top-shelf on the backhand. Maybe he's been training with Ducherov.
Speaking of Duch, he might be banged up. He missed the entire 2nd period last night and appeared gassed after he came back in OT to dish the winning assist. Smash him into the boards a few times and you'll either hobble him or piss him off bad enough where he'll take a bad penalty.
Lightning blue-line is solid, so not much to exploit there. McDonagh really glued things together when he returned. JJ Moser is a good wingman and better than Hedman's last few partners. McDonagh and Cernak are a solid shutdown pair. Lilleberg is Gudas-lite. Raddysh and Perbix can be exploited though. With Cooper having the last change, it might be tough to get the right matchup though.
My pick : 90% chance the Leafs win in Matthews' return, or 10% they get goalied by Vasi.

Nick Robertson, who usually takes part in optional morning skates, is not taking part.
Maybe traded? - gravyface
Time to move on from Robertson. Better options available with more size and grit. Pressure of scoring, when he is eligible for arbitration seems too much for him. Let him be a top six on a poopbox team.

Yes. I like the more beef part. Startling to say I miss that from Patches.
