No poutine? Ours is pretty standard too. Sort of a pot luck. My sisters and wife have it all figured out. I just move furniture and stuff my face. - Dkos
No that’s more a French Canadian thing….there’s always a ham…I don’t like it , but it’s there…then the standard mashed potatoes with gravy, veggies, stuffing of course. |

Only saw the last 5 minutes and the overtime last night, but I guess that was the best part! Only one point out of that magical playoff spot on Turkey Day! I'd say Happy Thanksgiving, but I realize most folks on here are always miserable after a Flyers win, so I will say Happy Thanksgiving to those that actually enjoy a Flyers win! Oh, and Happy belated Thanksgiving to the Canadians on here! Eh what? - Phillywhiteout
guess all that matter is the bottom-line win. to ensure that 12-14th spot pick.
they were so badly outplayed. something that to me doesn't get talked about much is I do not think this team is all that well coached. |

The hockey comment was not a Thanksgiving message.
The "Happy Thanksgiving" part was the Thanksgiving message. - MJL
I understand. Just thought the juxtaposition was funny. |

Now that is how you do a rebuild on the fly! Sounds like it was a replay of the Ottawa game a couple of weeks ago. A game that they had no business being in somehow results in two points at the end of the night. Guess things even out in time cause they deserved the two points against the Knights on Monday night. |

Flyers team save % up to .888. The Russian goalies seem to be adjusting nicely. As a comparison Avs team save % .872. No way the Flyers will finish with a better record then the.Avs, but I cannot see how the Avs will have a long playoff run. |

Can't move Frost now. He is playing better and helping the team win. Wouldn't be fair to the room.
Also can't move Risto. He is playing better and helping the team win. Wouldn't be fair to the room.
Can't move Laughton. He isn't playing well at all and we value our guys. Not gonna sell low here. Also The Room still brings it in the room.
Can't move Poehling. He isn't playing well and we value our guys. Not gonna sell low here.
Can't move Hathaway. He still sucks but we value our guys. Not gonna sell low here. - StepfordSam
This is hilarious. There's also a chance we don't move anybody because nobody wants our guys.

You are lucky you missed it. I was excited with the later start and day off today to be able to watch the whole game. Too bad it was a dud except for the end.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Enjoy the day today!

I guess benching Frost worked. Too bad is has to be done every season - WhiskeyMan
Great point! At this point, Frosty shouldn't have to be benched. Players obviously will have slumps but he was pretty bad for 2 months. Hopefully he will continue to play on the line with Michkov and keep up the strong play.

Has he not played better since coming back? He was more active last night than he was before he got benched. |

I will ask again, you think it is because he was benched he has played better in 1 game? He was good in Vegas game. Invisible last night. |

what a gutsy performance by those philadelphia flyers. they are battling and want that last playoff spot. would not want to be the team that has to play them come playoff time. they may be one of the hardest 8th seed outs in recent history.
will the GM add to the team to help the boys in the room out? have they earned that commitment from Managment? - login
Teams outside the playoffs at Thanksgiving seldom make the cut. |

just curious why would you be surprised?
they didn't sell last deadline. they moved a free agent to be who they tried to keep. - login
that is still selling. Walker was the only piece they had worth anything.

Term is harder to move. Flyers dont have any UFAs to really move. Guys they are looking to move have 1-3 years on their contract. Harder for teams to make that room during the season. Rentals are much easier to fit onto your roster. To add players with term you gotta pull a Vegas\Tampa and have a guy out for the season or dump a contract.

Flyers have 3 RFAs this summer- Frost, York, and Foerster. So do the Flyers keep re signing their own and hope to be competitve by getting lucky drafting elite talent outside the top 5. Or trade some of these under 25 yr old players for potentially better players or assets- no guarantee. Frost will be gone, but what about the other two.

trading walker and acquiring EJ isnt selling.
RP, GH, and Seeler were not worth anything? Laughton? What about TK? what is your definition of being worth anything? |

If the Flyers are truly rebuilding, they know these three 1st round picks they have are worthless unless they are in the top 10. They must trade Laughton and Risto at a minimum, and maybe Frost also if he can stay in the lineup. Open up spots, save cap and finish in the bottom 10. - jd250
How do you figure they are worthless, that's probably the most meathead thing you've said to date.
First rd picks are never bad lots of talent can be found throughout the 1st rd, not to mention you can package them up and move up.

The Flyers are going to do what they always do. They'll see themselves in the playoff chase. They don't know how to rebuild or they're unwilling to. Let's face reality, as Flyers fans, we are doomed. This organization will never change and unless they get lucky numerous times, as they did with Michkov. They will never be more than just an average playoff team.
Happy Thanksgiving - MJL
You do know there many ways to rebuild, yes tanking does get you talent but how man6 years has that work for Edmonton till they got lucky and winning McDavid, ask Ottawa how's that working, Buffalo.
I don't agree with all the front office decisions, but you don't need to tank to rebuild neither.
How are you building a winning culture if you put them in a tank situation.
Look at Blackhawks they got bedard and have 5 top picks and are still terrible. And being that bad can make players want out or develop poorly.
Building a winning culture and making a team play the right way and see what guys you can push and what guys want it. Wile in the process of Drafting lots. 6 picks in 2 rds is really good especially for a bubble team, all you need is 1 to hit and look out |

I agree that teams will like some players but the Hathaways and RPs are not likely on many teams' wish lists. I'd love to unload pretty much anyone not named Michkov, but I just don't see teams valuing our players. Plus, we all know that if the Flyers are sniffing a playoff spot, they will do exactly as StepfordSam posted. I'm still laughing at that post hours later.

4 regulation wins is really building a winning culture. Tied for last in the league in thay category I believe. |
