Nice to see Cuylle getting the minutes he deserves.

Trocheck should be the 3C IMO. Let him go back to grinding and putting up 40-50 points. Kreider-Trocheck-Smith. Let them try to be a shutdown line who can chip in dirty goals. The kids all deserve top 6 minutes at this point.

Time to rethink PP1 as well. If this game goes like yesterday I really might check out.

Ive been saying for years Kreider should be a 3rd line LW.

Why you taking a shot šŸ˜ž

To this day I still think it was Dolan. Not so much Drury. They had a 2-0 lead and these same guys blew that too lol with a different coach

- Slimtj100

Lol, this team is allergic to 2-0 leads.

..and it wasnt a shot.

Iā€™ve agreed. 5v5 just isnā€™t his game anymore. 3rd line, PP, PK and heā€™s still getting 16 minutes a game.

Mika would be better off with Laf, Kakko, Cuylle, or Berard as his wings.

Chytil and Panarin might click. Never given that much of a shot.

Mika needs guys who are going to create the offense for him, Kreider aint it. The legs just arent there for him to just fly by guys.

I would take out Vesey before Edstrom
- TPC

This is Lavy falling back on his ā€œvetsā€ instead of the guys that have earned the ice time. I know itā€™s blasphemy to talk about on here, but Iā€™ve said it for years now, Vesey is a wasted roster spot.

Vesey was fine for what he is and what hes getting paid, however using Vesey as a "fallback" option as if hes some savior is a grave mistake.

For the second time in a row, were gonna have a coach in the system that I believe is better than the HC and we will end up losing as a result. (first Knoblauch, and I think Peca this year). We need fresh new blood behind the bench and not to recycle some 20-30 year vet coach who isnt in tune with where the league is progressing to.

Exactly what I was going to say. I like Jimmy's game, but he's not on right now. AdEd for Vesey and Berard on then 3rd for Smith.

It's not blasphemy to say anything here. Except maybe to wish Lou Gehrig's disease on someone. šŸ¤”
Most contention you encounter comes from your insistence in absolutism. Vesey is nowhere near a wasted roster spot. You've just always had difficulty realizing these guys are human, not PS5 simulations, and they can suffer through poor play.

Laviolette was all about winning last year. He's a great motivator early in his tenures, and takes his teams far the first year. Almost worked for us, but now we all know he's a sitting duck. Might as well let him see the year through, though. Figure out what needs to be done with this roster first, and then make the big moves at the TDL/summer, and potential coaching change in the offseason if they think it's needed to reset.

I still need to know why we play nothing like the team Lavi started with here. Is he not able to make them play his system? Has he stopped even trying it? Have they been given free reign like under Gallant?? We have essentially the same personnel that locked down teams for the better part of a season. But, now we couldn't defend against an AHL team.

The only thing that worries me is winning a game against a bad team like this will cause them to second guess changes lol. They need to make some trades

Its on the players. I think the leadership core has checked out. As I said before, theyre not stepping up, and I dont think the young guys we have are the type to step up and call them out on it.

Last year there was a lot of chatter around Brady wanting to leave Ottawa, he has a NMC that kicks in next year. Maybe this is something the Rangers need to look into. Im not sure how we get it done and what it will cost us, but a total shake up at the leadership core might be necessary.

I was thinking Zib for Norris since Norris is injury prone and Zib would be a player goes home kinda thing.

But hereā€™s the thing, itā€™s very unlikely any of these core guys get moved until the contracts run out. This is why I think Drury went bonkers this week. Because what else could he do to try and light a fire
