The owners have to do the right thing. They cannot be happy with a mid team. The fans are tired of it. Nelson and Palms need to go and anyone else they can move. - ses111
So is it the Owners telling Lou to make the deals. Lou just making the deals or Ownership removing Lou and letting the new GM make the deals.
I think the ownership is going to give Lou at least until the end of the season. Right or wrong. That is my feeling.
Unless the Islanders are legitimately out of it early. I think you see Lou make a few more buys than sells. Right or Wrong. That is my feeling as ownership has not shown anything else. Heck when was the last time anyone spotted Ledecky in the stands? That alone speaks volumes.
I think it is going to be a painful 3-1/2 months of inconsistency.

I agree. I think Lou stays until the off-season. I would not mind Patrick taking over now to see what moves he makes. No idea what buys can even be made right now. I would not trade one pick right now and would only add picks.
Ledecky probably does no want to watch this product and does not want to be questioned by the fans.

Less than awesome efforts by Palms and then Mayfield, who was pedestrian on Bunting's shot |

I thought the interference call on Casey was marginal. We see a lot worse get ignored.
For whatever reason, this team has trouble maintaining its "jump" throughout 60 minutes. It seems like they go through stretches, especially on the PK, when they get beat to every loose puck.

They seriously lack intensity and urgency. I think it's been a growing issue since their second ECF journey. It's almost like their experience created complacency in the face of adversity.

Hard to say why. Maybe it's complacency like you said. Or a different coach? Or maybe they're just older and lack the excitement brought by youth? |

I just think when you hear these sorta lackluster media responses after tough losses, it may give some insight to the problem. They tend to stay even-keeled like players who've been there but the response never follows. They need more panic in their mindset. |

This is the prefect time for Mayfeild to get a penalty and cost them the game.
For some reason I think they will close this one out. Y'all can roast me if I'm wrong.

Jimmy, I do not disagree, however, some might say that they with all that has gone wrong. This team is 3 games out of a wild card spot.

Certainly hope so. Absolute worst thing this team could do is somehow make the playoffs. This thing is back on again? Cool, I guess… |

Worse thing is they continue to limp along and hang around a playoff spot at the deadline. If Lou thinks he needs to make the playoffs to keep his job, he will not do the right thing.

The problem is they normally do not suck enough to be completely out of it. The last time was the year after the 2nd ECF and Covid.
