Not that I expected this team to do much, but we knew those teams were gonna be bad. Plus, you could go to a game for $15 then. This team blows a game at the same time of the game every single game. It’s been since before Thanksgiving I even gave the effort to watch a game.

Those teams had no money and a lousy building and did not have a Hall of Fame GM. These things make the current team much worse.

I think most can agree that HOF GM has been a shell of himself for years. Even as bad as they've been, I can't dismiss the possibility that they'll annoyingly claw back into the 8th spot and get bounced in four games. This is why I want them to SELL

Anyone still watching this poop is truly masochist.

I'm not watching anything on espn+. The NHL can go (frank) themselves.

Well, it was not a bad thing that I could not watch the game last night. But I am moving on from optimum and their insane prices. Getting tired of the cost of these entities.

At least I have team USA for another week.

I’ve had fubo for years now and it’s great for mostly all sports and is $75 a month. Only problem, for me, is no SNY. I have an app on the tv in my living room that I get SNY on but not on my phone.

I have taken to streaming Fubo, too. Was the game on Fubo last night? I didn't find it quickly, and didn't care enough to do a diligent search.

The best thing this team could do right now is line up trades for Nelson and Palmieri. Try to find a way to trade Lee and or Pageau. With Nelson and Palmieri hold onto whatever salary is necessary to make it palatable for a contender. Take on some dead cap from said contender and maximize the return.

Couldn’t agree more. I would also look for some takers on Cizikas, and Pulock.

Pulock has a full no trade and I don't think anyone is taking that deal with him signed until 2030. Cizikas maybe, but even his deal might be prohibitive also.

Something tells me Pulock would wave the no trade for some sunshine, no state tax and a chance at a cup. Pulock was drafted has a heavy shooting d man. Why is his shot never utilized? I get missing the net but sometimes that’s looking for a deflection. One of the hardest shots in the league and it’s never utilized?!?!

I think Cizikas could add value for some center depth and pk.

I’m just ready to start launching assets. I don’t even think this group has it in them to eek in the 8th seed. The special teams is the worst I’ve ever seen.

Also Pelech taking a foolish penalty in the O zone behind the net with 5 min to go was inexcusable.

Funny how they quote players talking about Domi’s reverse hit being an elbow to George’s face, yet not a one of them did anything. That’s a sign of a team that’s checked out.

This is a soft team in every way. So much for rewarding Lou’s loyalty.

I just think the vets are all walking on egg shells waiting for their names to be called on the next outgoing flight. It’s no secret that guys like Nelson, Palmieri and Lee could be goners

Pelech had a season or 2 where I was like wow who is this guy. Now the isles d core just looks beaten.

Mayfield setting up behind the isles net, only to bank the puck off the boards to the other team is clearly not the right play and yet it happens every game.

It's not that I don't think Cizikas could add value, I just think GM's will have an easy time finding similar value from a guy who doesn't make $2.5M for two more years after this one. I just don't think anyone is going to want to hitch their wagon to a declining 34yo fourth liner for two more years.

As far as Pulock, maybe he would waive to go to a sunbelt/no state tax team but almost all of those teams are competitive and not flush with cap space to fit 5 more seasons of $6M+ on their books. Nashville is about the only one that can do it and they stink.

Injuries have really slowed Pelech. The defense never really recovered from the loss of Toews and Leddy as well.

Team still has some lousy contracts they probably cannot move. Incredible the deals these NHL players get. I cannot wrap my head around it.

I think Cizikas was labeled a 4th liner on the isles because that had been their identity line for years. Even under Roy he’s played up. I totally get what you’re saying about age and decline but I do believe Cizikas has ad value for a contender. I don’t think 2.5 for 2 more years would be a deciding factor. Personally I’d love to see both he and Nelson find a cup like Oksposo. All were great isles and all deserve that legacy.

I could see Pulock being a fit on many teams. Maybe the isles take salary off another teams books in order to make that happen. Who knows? I’m just looking at any scenario for change at this point

I dont think the contracts are a major factor as seen by their ability to bury Engvall in the minors if need be. The isles don’t have many major contracts at all. I think their issue was and is their inability to sign top tier talent via free agency. Players aren’t dealing with GMs. It’s the agents. The agents are now younger and I’m sure not wanting to deal with Lou. Who would? They have a client looking to get paid…..no one wants to deal with his ridiculous rules. It’s antiquated.

Cizikas was awful for most of this season and has only turned it around a bit in the last couple weeks. I don't think he's going to be making any drastic improvements anytime soon. It's not that I don't think he's still got the potential to be a good fourth liner, but there are plenty of good fourth liners available every trade deadline that are on expiring contracts. Maybe a GM covets him and he does get moved, in which case that's great...but I just don't see it really happening.

I'm on board with you as far as change. I'd trade literally almost anyone off this roster with only a small handful of exceptions. And I'd root for just about anyone traded to go win a Cup...pending on where their destination is

Fair and I agree. Perhaps I’m just a Cizikas fan?

I guess the million dollar question is on ownership and if they continue with the status quo. If they continue standing pat then the argument that they’re only in this for the real estate appreciation holds weight. Too bad Steve Cohen doesn’t love hockey lol

I'm a Cizikas fan too, I love the guy. But I'm just trying to look at it objectively. Funny enough, the article I just posted is reporting that Tocchet loves Cizikas lol. And there's a lot to love. I just think that similar players are available every year and don't carry extra years on their contracts.
