Incredible Lou puts the team in this situation and still has a job. - ses111
What he or the next GM of this team needs to focus on, is finding playoff contending teams that are willing to sacrifice youth for veterans. There is still part of this team that has 3 to 5 years window. If they can parlay some vets into young talent.
Or you can keep a few pieces and sell everything for whatever you can get and hit the reset button. I think the misconception is that fans need a vet team. I personally want an exciting team with promise.
Right now, we have the senior citizen bus to the next pudding cup serving.

I want a team that can be a legit contender for a number of years and not a team that has to struggle for the last wildcard spot. You cannot fool the fans. They know a legit team from a fake. The more a re-tool is delayed, the worse it will be.

Why an 81 year old Hall of Fame GM wants to hang around like this is shocking. Barry was a huge reason for the success and it was not brilliant roster moves Lou made. - ses111
I swear sometimes it sounds like you have lived on a desert island alone for your whole life.
People like being in charge. People like being important and influential. Especially the type of people like Lou that have reached the top of their challenging career path. He's not the type of guy that wants to sit in a recliner watching TV and waiting for his grandkids to visit. There is nothing shocking about it.

Come on Jimmy. How many 81-year-olds are running sports teams? Lou has worked for 3 NHL teams and has been working for years and has 3 Cups. What is left for him to do at this job? It's not about Lou anymore or should not be. If he is not smart enough to know it's time to pack it in, he needs to be fired. He simply is not good at his job any longer. It's time Lou to gracefully step aside after everything the sport has given him. Lou should care he may be leaving a team worse off like he did with the Devils. There is a beginning and an end with each job. It’s the same as life. Even a guy on a deserted island knows this. |

My point is that Lou's not the type of guy that steps aside. He believes he's doing a good job. He doesn't believe he should have to step aside. When Snow was GM he though he was doing a good job. The same can be said of Peter Chiarelli or pretty much every GM.
I agree it's time for a new GM. I think most people here do as well.

Question, and forgive me for asking. When a player with a ntc or nmc clause in their contract is traded. Does that clause still exist in the contract with their new team? - Nfdbulldawg
Unless and until the contract gets renegotiated, then all the contract clauses carry over........salary, bonuses, NTCs, NMCs, etc.

Not me. I want the Islanders to have the first 100 year old GM. |

Shannon’s lost some weight! Schwein prob not digging her new look.
Regarding Lou, he’s an old arrogant douche who’s thinks he’s still relevant. Grateful for where he’s got the team, now he needs to move on. I’m just an internet gm but that’s my 2 cents. |

Much better period by the Isles there. Quicker to the puck and we’re competing. |

They're getting a lot more space too. It's hard to determine how much of this is the Isles vs how much is because of the Canes. |

Give credit to the Isles. They were fast to the puck. Very good second support. And competing. Best period of the year for me.
They just need to keep it up through the 3rd!
You know the Canes are going to push hard! |

Glad to get the win, but Carolina ringing up 19 shots in the third suggests a typical third collapse for the Isles but Sorokin made several massive saves down the stretch. Ottawa next
* despite the bs treatment from the refs, Anders hustled his a$$ off tonight and is playing his best hockey since his knee injury in 2021 |

2 shots given up by the Isles in the 2nd. That period won them the game for me. Again best period of the year. |
