If you go with Igor, in 4 more years when this group will be ready to compete, when the add fresh players with the trades they make, do you want a 35yo goaltender? - Brukie
wait, Igor is 28 years old at this moment

Really torn with Igor. Want to keep him but no where close to $12m. And if they blown it up does it make sense paying him? |

Over the years I’ve seen backups like Georgieve (totally misspelled) Talbot do amazing because the defense steps up when they’re goalie who can bail them out isn’t in bet.
I say trading Igor might be the best thing for this team. From my memory, they were doing great… then when the “I want to be the highest paid player” came into the picture, the team started to slide.
Starting to wonder if he’s the issue in the room. |

It’s such a risk though cause you can’t afford to lose him for free. If he hits UFA at least 6 or 7 teams will offer him the boat. If the Rangers are really gonna wait trade him at the deadline and then you can always try to resign him in the summer |

Rangers reallllllly need Fortesque to be good. Just looking quick he has decent numbers in college. Not sure anyone has any intel on him? I like the pims and +/- numbers through 13 games. And he’s 6’2 but he needs some muscle at 170 lbs |

Trade him and be done with the side show. |

Also, really glad we gave Pitt our 2nd and 5th round pick for Rielly Smith. He’s a real difference maker out there……… |

deadline isn't until March 7th, it's so far away, there's so much more that could happen
one of those things that could happen though is that this gets even worse
personally I still think they are thinking about making a a move or moves to help right the ship, and are not in blow it up mode, not yet anyway |

He was 170 when we drafted him, I’d guess he’s closer to 190 now and they just haven’t updated hockeydb |

Ah ok. He’s plus 11 through 13 games. That’s pretty good you’d think |

It’s risky cause they don’t have many assets to move to try and get better with this core |

He has been fine. Not his fault he is playing with other players who don’t give a crap around him |

Checked on boston college website, they list him at 180. Plenty of time to put on some weight still. |

Really? Bc I think if Quick was in net last night he stops both of the first 2 goals and we could’ve had a completely different game. |

whatever they do, the last thing they should be doing is dangling that 2025 1st round pick

Dude he saved them at least 10 pts in the standings this year. Hes gonna have an off game. Maybe more of them then we’d like, but to be fair he is the goalie from Slap Shot time after time after time. |

I don’t notice him out there at all. He looks just as emotionless as the rest of them. Not the right type of player for what we needed. Another skill/finesse/soft guy that doesn’t drive play or change the momentum of a game. This team needs Rempe but they need to tell him leave the staged fights in Hartford.
Rempe needs to go out there, run around throwing some big hits to get a reaction from the other team and get his teammates to get involved in the game emotionally. I’d call up Mackey and Rempe and dress both of them next game. |

Ur partially right that’s he’s saved them some points. The problem I have is when ur demanding to be the highest paid player at ur position (which he is) you don’t get as many “off” nights like he’s had to go with that. U want to be the highest paid? Fine, play like it. But when u don’t, the criticism will be there sooner than most. How many early goals on soft shots has he given up this year? Far too many. |

I think Rempe needs to play a full season in the AHL, I think he's got a future in this league and isn't ready for NHL |

They already tried that a few games though. Rempe can’t play at this level right now. He looks slow, is out of position when he goes for hits, takes bad penalties and has been losing the fights so far this year giving the other team more momentum. He isn’t the answer right now. Maybe next season |

I get what you’re saying, but I can’t imagine how bad this would be without him. And you may aswell punt the next decade without him regarding resigning him. Unless Garand is a thing |
