I'm very curious to know if stats exist pertaining to pad colors and performances, or if there simply isn't any correlation whatsoever. I think Dubas is convinced white pads are better for some reason..

i think white pads probably are better. i'm just selfish so they'll just have to work harder so they can look great out there.

Did not get the chance to comment on this cause the site was down, but they finally went and got a RHD vet to help our blue line. I was talking about this 2 years ago.

And they also admitted they got it wrong with Barron in that Lehkonen trade, something they needed to come to at some point

I like his small white spaces, when a shooter has a fraction of a second, it looks like a small opening either under the arm or under the pats in butterfly style.

All white pads likely do not, especially on the blue crease paint.

Even if it only works to fool a player 1 in every 50 shots, still 1 easier save to make.

yeah well it's a sign of a healthy management team when they aren't stubbornly holding on to players they've traded for just to prove a point... Barron probably won't be what they projected, so they moved on, very rational decision.

Every time you make a trade for a prospect / pick, it is a gamble.

(more so than an established player, as you probably know better what you have with them).

The trick is to be right more often than you are wrong.

Habs have a lot of D an they are starting to weed out the ones that will not be around.

So that makes sense.

there will surely be transparent gear technology being used by goalies in a near future, which should be truly effective at confusing the (frank) out of everyone.

Yeah ... they took a chance with Barron but he never became what they expected of him.

The guy has all the tools (skating, shot, size) but he gets pushed off the puck very easily and he lacks grit. I hope he finds his game in Nashville but I much prefer Carrier in his spot on right D.

then you should've tried using a busy AF design with a whole bunch of lines and colors, maybe the gear you hate the most would've helped you reach greatness...

yeah, Barron was decent in many aspects of his game but there weren't any particularly interesting attributes that made him stand out... he's still young though, so he could turn out to be a fairly good NHL dman, just not the kind Hughes and habs fans were hoping for.

A lot of their projects have not been working all that much so far (Barron, Newhook, Dach), but in the case of Dach it might be a case of missing a full year.

I like the Laine trade a lot, it gives the fans something to look for and hes still a young player.

Hutson is fun to watch and they have a few good prospects coming up next season (Demigod, Hague, Backer par un rein).

They just need to keep focusing on the draft and hoping those guys will turn into something. The more they have picks and pick early, the better.

I have another concept with jokes.

I just tell a lot of them and out of 50 jokes, Im guessing I will have one or two good ones out of that bunch.

You just need to deal with the cringe for 47 or 48 jokes.

I'm not sold on Newhook either ... "smallish" bottom 6 player, easily replaceable IMO. I think he'll probably let go at some point in the future.
