I’m just being a poop about the third world stuff.

Not only has our goaltending been declining, but the executives were stuck with aren’t much better these days.

This I agree with yes. There is no Carey Price with pedigree to backstop Canada. We have fallen behind in the goalie department and haven’t really developed top talent there since Price IMO.

Seems really weird to me that we let that position of strength dwindle as abruptly as it has……

look around the league though, there are fewer dominant goalies than there used to be, not sure if that's related to development issues or if goal scorers have become that much better...

And we're not producing 6'5" and 6'6" goalies like other countries are these days

The first 2 no. The last 2 yes.

But we're talking about the apex of talent at that position!

They are VERY well made! I've played them and want one. But they start at like $3k?

what was the difference, pad size? I remember them getting smaller but I don't recall it being all that drastic, could be wrong though.

Absolutely! Not saying otherwise. But at that height, you better be good!

I bet you get that a lot.

I belive pads went from 14" to 12" wide and the blockers and trappers were reduced by a percentage, same for the upper gear, AND they're not allowed to use those baggy jerseys anymore either.

Look up the french-canadian goalie that won the cup for the Ducks. He's like a sheet of plywood with a helmet on.

I dunno man, a lot of times giant goalies don't move all that well, look at Fedotov at 6'8, not sure how that's gonna pan out...

Well I'm talking about the Pekke Renne's and whatnot out there. The combo of both skill and size

Appreciate you posting this. I have no idea how this was and continued to be deemed acceptable for vasilevskiy. Absolutely comical.

The angle does not help. Absolutely true….but I’ve been commenting on this for a while with friends that are hockey fans. He always seems inflated compared to a lot of other goalies.

yeah like I was saying I'm not sure if it's because in the picture Price is more lateral to the camera while Vasilevskiy is in an angle but he looks huge AF besides him
