Just in time to screw us out of a top 5 pick

I doubt a lot of people think Laine will move the needle that much in terms of the habs moving up in the standings

The sentiment was not positive, so I am (and neither is he) completely wrong.

The level of negativity is all that is being questioned.

I'm not sure I follow, but ok...

They will likely win/lose as a somewhat similar rate, but perhaps with much more excitement.

So that is a plus.

Will take some games for Laine to get back into things.

yup, but at least it automatically brings more players to their right "chairs" up front, so there's that.

Calling someone a big ham or saying (frank) off and die can both be seen as negative, but there is a vast difference in the level of negativity in using one over the other.

That is all.

He could help up front, wont do much in mtl own zone.

Depends if he could be the spark guys like Dach and Slach needed. That could make a big difference. My only concern is that Laine missed most of last season plus a good chunk of this one already.

I just wanna see some cool plays, a few more goals, and some fun hockey - win or lose.

I want a reason to watch all 60 minutes.

yeah, a consistent effort throughout the games, and keeping things closer (avoiding being completely outmatched by 5 or 6 goals lol) like they were doing last year.

yeah, I agree it could be an issue especially at first, but weirdly maybe him and Dach could create some chemistry and get things going, as they are in similar situations. Slaf too in a way, because he's been struggling as well.

I agree, be in the game for 60 minutes on most nights.

If the scores are higher, that is fine. 5-4 / 6-5 games are ok if they are close games.

Just make it (frank)ing exciting.

but they don't need talent to do that.
just work hard. like last season, no Dach, no Laine...

never said they did, and I'm sure both the coaching staff and players would like to continue on the trend they had going last year, but things don't always go smoothly during rebuilds. I'm looking forward to this team at least bringing up the competitiveness a few notches to end the current season.

I'm starting to think that having a camera following them 24/7 last season for the Crave documentary pushed them to be better.
maybe they should make that a recurring thing...

but games were close, fun to watch, they lost what, 27 games by 1 goal?
not at all the same thing this season.

I really don't think they need a documentary to get that extra edge, at least I (frank)ing hope they don't lol....

Hutson on the 1st PP too.

That was fun to watch, they just need to get their timing down.

yup, and having both Dach and Matheson on the 2nd wave isn't horrible either

Laine a better passer / playmaker than I thought he would be.

Fun game so far.

he could be what the doctor ordered to get his linemates going.
a real 2nd line would drastically change the look of that team.

That 2nd line looks more like a second line.

Yeah, just a few shifts, but if they get their timing together, then that could be something.

Now to find CC and Suzuki a winger...
