Monty got something better than a first star. A spot on team Canada!

It's not impossible, but it's going to take a BIG offer from another team.

As for Savard, I still think there's a small chance he sticks around at a much lower cost. If you remove Barron (most likely) next season, you'll still need a guy like him to fill a spot until Mailloux and Reinbacher are ready to take on a bigger role.

There's always the "trade him and sign him scenario" but that doesn't happen often.

We all agreed you only had to post after every win, to give you a massive break all year.

So you just gotta hold up your end of the bargain.

I wonder what he would fetch at the TDL... it would have to be more valuable than what he currently brings to the team.

If someone offers you a 1st rounder, you take it and run. Even a 2nd rounder would make me bite.

A 3rd rounder or less... I'd seriously consider giving him a new contract. The man wants to stay near his family anyway, he'll take the discount in a heartbeat.

I don't mind if they do trade him, as long as losing his leadership and veteran presence on the backend doesn't hurt them too badly. I know at some point the younger guys need to take over but they also need to be ready.

no but he doesn't seem to be aging too badly either, I don't think he's on the brink of drastically slowing down all of a sudden.

I think they trade him and sign a vet this summer, cause the right side is thin as fuuck

Barron may not be good enough to be a 6th, Mailloux as yet to reach the NHL level, Reinbacher lost a full year and will start in Laval next season most likely...Ghule is not even a RHD, but here we are.

I would expect a first for him, be it a late one

he's now a 3rd pairing dman. you keep him because he's a glue guy and brings experience to a young dcore. if he's on your top4 you're in trouble.

Well that's an instant "where do I sign?" moment.

yeah well that's why I was hesitant about it, trading him and then having to replace him has to be worth it...

mtl is in trouble, as of now anyway

pretty clear why they drafted Reinbacher but he will need time even more so after that injury

yeah but I don't think he'd take too much time in Laval, as opposed to a guy like Mailloux for example.
