Does anybody know if Igor‘s new contract has any type of no movement or no trade clause? - Greschnergy#4
Full no waive clause. If you waive him to circumvent the no move clause he gets to shoot you with a gun |

Wow --- what a day!
I liked Trouba, the team is going to miss his physicality. The way the team responded to the helmet throw last year shows how respected he once was. But sadly that time has passed and his play this year has been especially poor.
NHL hockey is a business and Drury is proving to be ruthless. I don't think that is necessarily bad. Has every move Drury made been exceptional? Nope. But today, viewed in widescreen was a very good day for the organization. Removing a declining Captain on an expensive contract without retention AND getting back some minor assets is a great thing!
The additional cap space will hopefully be used wisely. I think we can all agree that this is simply the first of what could be many dominoes to fall. As a Ranger fan, I am saddened to see our Captain go. However, that same fan is now excited to see what Drury does next.
Let Drury cook!
Alas --- it is game night! Bring on the Pens! LETS GO RANGERS! |

I actually agree with this. Although I am happy about Igor, but I can’t remember a time when things were this messy. - fish_hoof

I am mostly joking. What I mean is I highly doubt that there isn't one. |

All this Tkachuk noise could just be posturing. I can't imagine a trade of that magnitude happening mid-season, so I'd have to think he'll be a target of Drury's either this offseason or next, and this is a way of making it known to:
A) Ottawa, that they want him bad, and
B) Brady, to plant the seed in case he gets sick of losing over and over again each year there
Tkachuk could be Panarin's replacement at some point these next 2 years. |

Having a different opinion isn’t ruining the day. I’m not being a troll, just don’t have faith in Drury and his decisions. I’ve said signing Igor to this deal will hurt us down the line, I stand by that. Trouba wasn’t the problem and don’t agree with how public everything got. The circus going on inside the locker room right now is bc of the inexperience of Drury. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen/felt the team being this out of sorts, ever. - nyrangers9479
But they got a 4th rd pick you like to jizz over
Youre just are allllllllways here to remind us the bad move he’s done. Give it a (frank)in rest already my god dude
Today was a good day. It’s ok to admit it that Drury had a good day |

I’ll watch a lot of Ranger games but not all of them.
Has JT been bad with anybody who he’s been paired with … or has it been a specific partner???
And was he working special teams… and how’s his shot …. Because we definitely need a hammer from the Blueline on the PP.. |

We hope miller improves because they’ve been pair the most and were generally pretty bad |

People here are sour on trouba so you’re gonna get some sour answers.
Trouba is slow and his attempts at big hits take him out of position a decent amount. He has been paired with a number of different partners, especially this year, and the underlying numbers show that most of his partners have been better away from him than with him.
On the flipside, he is a very good penalty killer and blocks a lot of shots. He does have a big shot from the point but his deployment here never matched his deployment in his final years in Winnipeg because we have Fox so he mostly played on our PP2 which is a huge step down from our PP1 and he wasn’t very impressive there. On a PP where he is more of a shot and less of a QB he could be ok.
He clearly lost a little passion this year given the circus that went on the past few months but he’s a good leader and by all accounts a good guy and should be a positive influence in the room for your younger players. |

We don’t need him to be everything… but a good PK guy - leader for the younger guys, a solid shot and some protection that’s fine

It’ll be good to be out of NY for him no question about it. That alone may improve his play. I think he’s was really feeling the pressure here |

I disagree it was a good day. I’ve voiced my opinion on an $11.5 million goalie and think we lost a big part of our physicality which is something we needed to add to, not subtract. If we traded for Brady Tkachuk like the rumors were saying? I’d be the happiest person in here. The Rielly Smiths and Patrick Kanes don’t excite me. Sorry. |

Not having to be a 20+ minute a night guy on the 1st pair is going to do wonders for him. |

You may be able to tell from my post that I actually like trouba. The rangers are a cap team though and he’s not an $8M player so the move was necessary. I think Ducks fans will like him for what he will be asked to do and considering the cap doesn’t matter to your team |

You’re in the 1%, congratulations
I get it they lost toughness. But they were getting crushed game in game out anyway. What good was he doing? They needed to do something because this season was spiraling in a very bad way.
I was in his camp until this year, but it was addition by subtraction. He sucks
It’s clear, you and Brukie, and I’m sure Tom…are literally impossible to please |
