Careful about saying u like Trouba. Might upset some of the locals đź‘€

I like Trouba but also think it was a good trade by Drury, even though it could’ve been handled better. Both can be true

You’re in the 1%, congratulations

I get it they lost toughness. But they were getting crushed game in game out anyway. What good was he doing? They needed to do something because this season was spiraling in a very bad way.

I was in his camp until this year, but it was addition by subtraction. He sucks

Both teams will be better because of the move. His heart wasn't in this team anymore and it was dragging down the room.

I think this trade was probably agreed upon, maybe even during the summer, by both GMs but they gave the Troubas time to get what they wanted. I’d imagine that the residency thing ends December 31st or something close to that day. Where he’s like ok you can trade me now

That’s the biggest key. Trouba isn’t an idiot. The writing was on the wall. If he was still good enough it would suck, but he simply isn’t good enough anymore and we desperately needed the money off the books. Much like goodrow

The Cuylles, Schneiders, Edstroms, etc need to be the muscle now. This is why these guys weren’t ever traded

He had to go and for better or worse the GM sent a message to the rest of the team.

Former #NYR  captain turned Ducks defenseman Jacob Trouba on how things transpired in New York: "I'll be honest, I was put in a position this summer to make a decision between my career and my family and I chose my family. I would choose my family 100 times over again. I don't feel bad about that. I was happy about it. I don't like that it was made public necessarily or how everything unfolded so publicly, but I guess that's part of New York and what happens. It made it difficult to play kind of what that hanging over everything. The result is the result. I'm happy with moving forward, but I'm not overly thrilled with how it went down. In my opinion, things could've been handled better. I'm not blaming anybody or anything, just kind of how it happened I thought was kind of unfortunate."

It’s pretty clear that Trouba wasn’t happy about this so I don’t think you can spin it that way. He was threatened with waivers and by accepted the trade was able to maintain some control over where he ended up. I feel for the guy but it’s a business and there are worse things than making $8M in Southern California

I think Drury gave up on this leadership core is about the extent of it, and it came to a head. Goodrow and Trouba took the brunt of it.

Drury is feeling an immense amount of pressure and this is stuff you do when that happens. Maybe this saves the season, hopefully

It’s clear, you and Brukie, and I’m sure Tom…are literally impossible to please

- Slimtj100

Hold on a second. Saying I’m impossible to please is wrong. When I see decisions that are made, that I think are wrong, I’ll say I think they’re wrong instead of just saying it’s good bc the Rangers are the ones that made the decision.

This team lacks an identity. It infuriates me that Drury never trades for a player with term, and is constantly wasting picks on guys that play 20-30 games for us and we’re on to the next year wasting 1sts and 2nds again on guys for 20-30 games. It’s TERRIBLE asset management.

A 2nd round pick on Rielly Smith was a joke, and it was proven to be a joke when he’s a healthy scratch 20 games into the season.

Wasting a 2nd round pick on a guy they knew they needed a hip replacement in the off-season, TERRIBLE decision.

I know I know, F the picks right?? Will Cuylle was a 2nd round pick. Sykora was a 2nd round pick.

I’m not saying never trade a 2nd round pick before that becomes the next talking point. What I’m saying is he should try and use those 2nd round picks to trade for players with some term that won’t just be here for 20-30 games.

You want a GM to sit on his hands is what you want and wait for every pick and prospect to pan out. Then get mad at him when those picks and prospects don’t pan out

I remember where you said Caufield sucks. He’s second in the NHL goals

You really wanna play this game?

Still wouldn’t want Caufield on this team. He’s not the type of player we need. He’d be another soft, small, lost player in the playoffs.

Listen dude, I don’t wanna pissing match with you.

Let’s agree to disagree. At least see what happens the rest of the way this season. He’ll do something again to try and win the cup, and that’s all I can ask for🤷🏻‍♂️
