Gotta be one of the young guys like Laf. Signal changing of the guard - picklerick
That should be the plan, but they should strip everyone at that point, come to LAF and say "you're our new captain, who do you want to choose as your co-pilots to take this team forward?" Personally, I think Trocheck has right attitude to be a solid assistant capo. Im not sure anyone on defense is worthy of an 'A' honestly. As much as I love Fox, he seems more like a passenger than a driver. |

I don’t think Miller will ever be the player we want. He’s very soft. He’s 6’5 going on 5’8. It’s his make up. |

Its funny though because his numbers suggest otherwise. |

I dont really think so either. Not Panarin, not Fox. If they dont trade for someone, Trocheck would be who Id pick. He has that attitude that you need for a captain, he doesnt look like the type to shy away from confrontation and getting in someones face. I feel like if LAF were to get in my face and yell at me, I might burst out laughing. |

He was captain of every team he was on prior to the rangers |

Interesting fact, but he was also far and away the best player on every team he’s ever played on before the Rangers |

So? He’s in our top 5 unlike Trouba if that sort of thing matters. He can definitely lead by example skill wise, physicality wise, and emotionally |

I’m not fighting with you about this. He just doesn’t strike me as a leader when I listen to him speak.
Unless they plan on trading him, I think kreider should be made captain, if not him- then Vinny |

Kreiders time passed. Should’ve been him instead of Trouba. Now his contract is up in a few seasons. Trocheck maybe but I still think a kid is more meaningful |

It’s so stupid to speculate about this since we don’t know what goes on in the locker room and the relationships between the players. Only they know who should be the captain. |

Rangers could get something pretty good with Berard in the trade imo. He looked like an NHLer (top 9) - Slimtj100

So heres the question, are we going to continue to strip down the good young assets we have for another likely failed run or are we going to hold onto our assets, try to cut ties with the dead weight first? - aecliptic
Finally a sensible post. People complain about half of our defense, our only intimidating physical presence is gone and our offense is sputtering. Let's give up the last of our assets for another failed run. |

We’re going to look back on today in like 2-3 years and say hmm TJ was right
Do you look at his facial expressions during games? He looks defeated very often out there. Like tired. Beat up.
Ignore it it’s fine lol but he is playing too much. But at the same time they have no choice, but they simply cannot let him play this much forever.
He doesn’t look nearly like the Norris trophy candidate, like I said since the Jensen knee on knee - Slimtj100

Trouba was a good captain. Only the salary cap undermined him. If he was earning 4 1/2 million, he would still be captain |

Go straight to projection. No reason to stay with TV's. They are disposable at this point. - Tonybere
A good option for most people but I play games. Not sure there's a projector that's good for that. |

IMO they should go with 3 "A" s until they see how the season plays out. No sense in naming an official captain that could get traded if the downward slide continues. |
