He is actually a friend of mine from grade school. He is actually a really funny dude, he used to do a humor column in our high school newspaper. but yeah he is a total Devils homer who hates the Rangers with a passion.

I do wonder how much of a factor the possibility of losing Igor is playing into this. Everyone is out there saying "this is so Rangers" right now, but I bet the fact Igor is still unsigned is playing a huge part in this desperation the past week or so to shake this team up and turn it around heading into the next few seasons.

That ended this summer. Plus, the existence on an NMC halted everything. Vegas and Tampa do the same thing, they just didn't do it to their captain and attempt to do it twice with the same person. It was handled poorly, the room doesn't like it, most of us don't. But it likely ended up being a necessary evil. Yes, they got easier to play against, but lately, that had been the case even with him in the lineup.
