If this is all true, it will mark the beginning of the end for Drury!! - Brukie
Why? He's taking care of the problem, a lame duck captain that has declined super sharply over the past 2 years, which is outside his control. He could have just not tried to trade him at the draft this past summer, which would have ensured nothing got out about it. But then he clearly wouldn't have been doing his job either. |

Yep exactly Drury didn’t trade for and sign Trouba to begin with. He is trying to solve the issue |

Ya I'm not trying to be a Drury apologist, but like he's literally not able to control who ages and declines faster than expected. Sports is a guessing game. So sure, we can blame him for handing Zib his buyout proof contract, but if that's what was negotiated at the time by him and the agent using the market factors at that point in time, how can you blame him? |

If he can remove Trouba's cap completely it is a huge win no matter what. I don't care what anyone says about moral etc.
There is no captain curse. They just do a poor job picking them. |

Typical New York Rangers move. Like I’ve always said premier players go there just to Wither Away and get stepped on by management. What a horrible look for a storied franchise to do to their Captain. |

One of the things I both love and hate about this organization is their willingness to make moves when needed. Everyone in the league is so soft when it comes to taking big swings these days, because of their own job security is connected to having a big miss, and shaking up coaching/management is the only way to get more out of an underperforming group of players these days. I like that this approach puts the onus back on the players to perform to an acceptable standard and that we don't beat around the bush. |

Ah, yes. Trouba the slightly above average talent, never should have been captain, second pairing defenseman. A true premier player. |

I really don’t care what happens next, I’m just glad they are shaking it up. They need SOMETHING, and this is a pretty big something. Maybe itll finally galvanize them and they can move on and actually play like a team and play better |

I just want to see what everyone is like after such a big move. I have not given up on anyone yet, including Zib.
Let them marinate after this move. |

Maybe it's just me being in a good mood with this news, but if Trouba is in fact gone I'd give Miller another chance to prove himself. His value trade wise has probably never been lower but he's played so much with Trouba that if he can get some consistency in a partner other than Trouba that may help him become the player we thought he could/should be |
