I agree. They should trade mm to kick start the rebuild and so that he doesn’t have to languish playing for a team with no hope.. I personally don’t take joy in seeing them lose and want the young players on the team to continue to go through these growing pains to learn. Just a reminder that there are many young players on this team. It’s like some people want them to lose so they can validate their opinion that the only path is a buffalo style rebuild. - Hextall271
I enjoy seeing them lose as that is what earned.
Not one person has said a Buffalo style rebuild is the only path.
Do you think the path the Flyers are taking will lead to success? |

Sorry, Torts just no cutting it anymore. Getting nothing from Frost, Foerster, or Tippet who are your "skill" guys. He benches Konecny to teach one of his important lessons and starts Cates in the OT. Time to move on, his usefulness meter is now expired. - DANCER
Many guys who fails everyone's eye test gets a ton of minutes from Torts. Laughton is creeping near 16 minutes now. |

Serious question, would you want to play for Torts? |

Who are you hurting by benching TK? Assuming this is what he did. |

Depends on what type of player you’re talking about.
An offensive one 100% no. A Poehlig type 100% yes. |

Only saw the first period and the overtime, but that call on York in the first period was brutal by the refs. I mean, two weak one handed taps is a slashing penalty? Oh no, Frost sucks again and Farabee couldn't score on a shooter tutor. Eh what?? - Phillywhiteout
Great time to make a point…if that was the case. |

That 6-2 PP discrepancy seems odd, but I didn't see the second or third period. Sounds like Torts went after the refs in his post game presser! Also ripped the B's for practicing their diving skills. - Phillywhiteout
I’m glad he mentioned it if he did. |

It very well might. What people don’t consider is how much of a crap shoot that the draft is. Of note, there are some that are now saying that mm may be the best player in his draft. Better than the almighty bedard. Could you imagine if that comes to pass?
An Edmonton style rebuild even you’re looking at a decade or more. And have they won a cup? They got close but may not again even with the best player on the planet. And how many years of being terrible and missing on top picks did it take to get a mcdavid? I like the fact that they have several young players on the team. Some are emerging as key pieces, some look like they won’t be but people act like we should get rid of every young vet on the team to bottom out. Then you’re looking at a frustrated mm who may say, forget this. Then we’re no further ahead.
We have several picks and hopefully get more. I’m not advocating for them to acquire vets to go for it, but with a different coach in a couple years, I don’t see this team as being stuck I. Neutral. Bottoming out for decades trying to get a generational talent or several doesn’t always work. Hit in the draft with numerous picks and you may just get lucky with a generational talent as it looks like we may have. |

I like kolosov and he battled hard but I kind of think we win that one by holding on with sam in goal. Not easy chances but 3 goals went five hole on him. |

He did bench him….said after game he’s not disciplined enough….so let’s go with Poehling and Cates. |

He just seems like he’s not quite there yet. I think he could be very good one day…that’s just not today. If ever a guy screamed for 40-50 games in the AHL it’s him. |

The simplistic way to look at it is do you have a better shot at elite talent in the top 5 of the draft or the 10-14 range?
Without even looking of the last 10 cup winners how many have elite players from the top of the draft.
As far as any timeline the Flyers are what 4 years without any playoffs. So many more years to go before any real contention. Hamster on a wheel.

That 100% hurts the team obviously. There are other ways to address it. Torst however does not know any other ways. |

Not tanking is one thing but the perpetual locking up 3rd line players and long term contracts for guys like farabee/tippett is the big problem. They leave themselves no flexibility to land a big fish in ufa like 2007 to change direction

Buffalo still can't get a solid footing in the Atlantic after all the years with hide & seek. |

With that old classic archaic move he reduced flyers chances for 2 points. |

Allegedly. It is most likely he was benched as a precaution. Concussion protocol is not a good way to determine a concussion especially since symptoms dont aleays show immediately |

What long term contracts were handed out? Poehling got 2 years, Hathaway got 2 years, Cates is RFA, Laughton has 1 year left after this,
Deslauriers got 4 years but that was from the previous GM
Only contract to be upset about is the Seeler one but that can be rectified after year 2.
In what world are Farabee and Tippett 3rd line players? Both had 50 points last season. Tippett had 28 goals. Those arent 3rd line accomplishments.

No….Torts specifically said after the game that TK is not disciplined and that’s why he sat after returning from concussion protocol. |
