I dont remember seeing Couturier or MM in OT. Did Frost get any OT time? Were they being disciplined too?

I missed the postgame but that's the kind of thing that pisses me off about Torts. I was fine with TK sitting a bit in the 3rd, but yes, the best players should be out there in OT. Terrible decision by Torts.

Right now, prospect pool for the upcoming draft is not as deep as first thought apparently. The team has 2 point per game wingers and only one top 6 center. Seems like an issue. Michkov is such an offensive genius. His timing on the ice on where to be is impeccable. The truly great players have that ability, it cannot be taught

Torts always wears old his welcome, eventually. Isn't it obvious that all of his young players are tanking? It's not that the organization wants the higher pick, its the players that aren't being developed.

I agree. They should trade mm to kick start the rebuild and so that he doesn’t have to languish playing for a team with no hope.. I personally don’t take joy in seeing them lose and want the young players on the team to continue to go through these growing pains to learn. Just a reminder that there are many young players on this team. It’s like some people want them to lose so they can validate their opinion that the only path is a buffalo style rebuild.

It doesn't matter how many young players are on the team. It matters how many young elite players you have. How do they get them? By being a capped out playoff bubble team? What is winning to you? Is it being a mediocre middle of the pack team? That's winning?

Some are emerging as key pieces, some look like they won’t be but people act like we should get rid of every young vet on the team to bottom out. Then you’re looking at a frustrated mm who may say, forget this. Then we’re no further ahead.

We have several picks and hopefully get more. I’m not advocating for them to acquire vets to go for it, but with a different coach in a couple years, I don’t see this team as being stuck I. Neutral. Bottoming out for decades trying to get a generational talent or several doesn’t always work. Hit in the draft with numerous picks and you may just get lucky with a generational talent as it looks like we may have.

What many don't consider is that trying to build with trades and free agency is a much, much bigger crap shoot than building through the draft. The Flyers have one young key piece. One, that's it. Let's get lucky with later picks in the draft. How has that been working out? Some don't want to have patience and don't want to wait but they're okay with sticking with the same failed strategy that has them waiting 14 years and counting.

He just seems like he’s not quite there yet. I think he could be very good one day…that’s just not today. If ever a guy screamed for 40-50 games in the AHL it’s him.

Anyone else feeling like Cam York and Travis Sanheim together isn’t really working? I know they were a great pair before York got hurt. But now Sanheim is sort of come into his own in a different way and it feels like they’re getting each other‘s way. They’re kind of the same player.

What long term contracts were handed out? Poehling got 2 years, Hathaway got 2 years, Cates is RFA, Laughton has 1 year left after this,

Deslauriers got 4 years but that was from the previous GM

Only contract to be upset about is the Seeler one but that can be rectified after year 2.

In what world are Farabee and Tippett 3rd line players? Both had 50 points last season. Tippett had 28 goals. Those arent 3rd line accomplishments.

In a short sample, it looks to me like he can play in the NHL. He's better than Fedotov in my opinion. AHL time won't hurt him though. We'll see what they do.

I know everyone here hates torts but kudos to him for calling out the diving by the bruins. At least two of those calls were not penalties. One we barely touched the players arm and the other was a love tap on a skate. Dive. Well done coach.

TK deserved to be benched ... he has played a terrible two games in terms of discipline. I don't know what's going on with him but he needs to be a better leader and grow up. I am glad Torts benched him but I am concerned that Torts has to do this at this stage in his career.
