I wouldn’t expect any radical trades from this group so it’s going to be through the draft or not at all. Next two drafts will decide whether management can pull it off. - psuhockey
why just the next 2? do the prior 2 not count as well?
I would expect a crazy trade at some point imo. |

I think we can absolutely expect some trade action in the future. As well as free agency activity. It is mandated.

Two more reasons I love Matvei Michkov:
1. He reminds me of Bobby Orr. Now wait, before you all think I am trolling let me explain. Michkov does not play like Bobby Orr, but one thing he has in common is he is a super star that does not shy from a fight. Orr was like that also, he would fight and stick up for teammates. You don't see today's super stars doing that all too often.
2. As he heads down the tunnel after getting a penalty near the end of the game, he stops and signs an autograph for a kid. Its sort of an unwritten rule that a player does not do that, but personally I don't care. As frustrated as Michkov was with blood on his chin, he made some kids night and that to me says a lot about his character.
This kid is only reason to watch games right now. |

Yes, it's mandated that the Flyers evolve from being a marginal bubble team and actually put a team on the ice that can compete for a cup for several seasons. |

Where are you getting this information from that it is an unwritten rule?

Drysdale did play well. Hopefully he can remain healthy enough to pump and dump him as I can’t see Keith Jones wanting all 3 of York, Andrae and Drysdale in the lineup long term. - psuhockey
He played Ok, not great, and got better as the game went along. I thought he had some offensive chances in the second period that he absoluately messed up and defensively he had a bad start. But he skated well throughout. He just needs to stay on the ice first and foremost so we can develop. |

Doesn't every team have that mandate? Not the mandate I'm referring to.

They do matter but they need a lot more. There really isn’t much in there besides bottom half of the roster types. |

Why would you expect him to play great coming off of a lengthy injury absence? He played well overall for his first game back. Encouraging |

the front office management was not poor during Lindros tenure. - login
Did they win with a generational player?

just to be clear, your definition of poor management is not having won a cup. |

Overall no. But if you have a generational talent and you do not win it is. Especially when the front office had zero monetary restrictions and an advantage over 80% of the league.
They misread the goalie situation and did not acquire enough depth on defense during Eric's tenure.

The next draft especially. 6 picks, probably in the top 45. The draft has no generational talent at the top, but there are a lot of good prospect well into the 2nd round. |

big difference in having poor management than what you're now saying don't you think?
some bad choices sure, poor management nope. |

Lindros era was brought down by Clarke's belief in not spending huge money on a goaltender. With no salary cap, this was a catastrophic mistake. An arguable GOAT goaltender (Brodeur) was in the division and also Mike Richter.
Michkov is trending towards a generational player. Briere is going to have to make tough choices about the roster or risk Michkov having a Giroux type career. The roster is not good enough and the center depth is abysmal with very little immediate help on the horizon. Realistically, Luchanko is the only realistic option for center help within the next 2 seasons. So the Flyers will have wasted Michkov's entire ELC with very little help at center. |

So making the wrong personnel decisions is good management? Even when you have the full financial backing of a premier franchise in the NHL and full approval from the owner to do what it takes to win.

is that was said or being discussed?
making a bad choice does not equate to poor management. no Managment team is infallible or perfect. if that is your expectation then you will be disappointed all the time.
