Why on earth do we keep sending Murashov to the ECHL? I get we want to keep him active, but in his only two starts in the AHL he had strong performances and they won both games. Why piss around his development?
They need to just get on with trading one of Ned or Jarry and moving Blomqvist back up so Murashov can get starts in the AHL. We should be able to get a late round pick for Ned, but I'd rather PAY a late round pick to give Murashov a better development path than have him in the ECHL. Asset management isnt just acquiring late round picks, it is ensuring the prospects you have are getting an appropriate chance to develop.
Imagine if Dubas had some balls and traded Jarry for Dubois in the offseason... We'd have a 1LW for Sid and we'd be able to appropriately develop our goalies. Maybe we tried to and LA preferred Keumper but damn... |

It definitely takes some balls to trade for an 11 million career loser who makes some visually appealing plays from time to time. |

Correct! He apparently has looked like a great 2 way player overseas. He has improved his backchecking skills and continued to build his net front and board battling skills. - 123Kid
Wonder who is on the way out then? Heard doc has suitors. Grinder will be thrilled 😄 |

Is that official, I haven't heard anything about it. - MacPatty
Don’t think it’s official but I read about it a couple days ago as well. Can’t remember the source. |

Trading for a recent Norris winner shouldnt need to be considered a ballsy move. Trading for a young guy who has bounced around and not yet earned a big cap hit would have been. |

I can’t imagine scenario where someone’s actually willing to give up anything for DOC. But if there is I don’t see the hold up. |

This was my concern with Murashov signing. Until Blomqvist is moved up, they don't have a proper spot to challenge Murashov. |

Trade of the day... would you do it?
Pens trade Pettersson and Rackell for Soucy and Boeser? For the Pens it would have to be a sign and trade, assume that we would overpay Boeser at 8/$8.25M AAV.
Pens get an upgrade on 1W and a fringe 2/3 LD at a decent cap hit. Boeser is not young, but you can make the case that he would help both in the short and longer term with the team.
Vancouver doesn't lose Boeser for nothing in FA (he is pricing himself out) and gets a good, top 6 RW to replace him at a lower cost basis. They also get their D upgrade and opportunity to extend him. As an added bonus, they save their 1st round pick which they can trade to further enhance their roster for the playoff run.
The alternate play could be to sub Boeser for JT Miller (which I would like better) but that would assume that Vancouver is able to trade for someone like Kadri to replace him at center... which I could also see happening.

Hoping if Petts gets traded it’s for 2nd line help rather than another defenseman. |

I would not do that deal. I like Rakell. Not a fan of Boeser to be honest. Side note TIOPS reports that much as we all discussed that we are going to have an aggressive offseason. At first Dubas was against it. They stated he is looking for a Rangers type of rebuild when they signed Panarin. They are thinking that might be what jolts this team. They are planning to make a huge run at Mikko Rantanen. The scouts are predicting his contract would age well. The prediction is 7 years 100 million and a signing bonus. They are hoping the Rangers go after Marner which would take them out of the bidding. The Fenway Sports Group is hoping with their backing we can land some bigger free agents before Sid retires and it would all start with Rantanen.

I agree 100% that going all in on Rantanen should be the plan. Even if you are massively overpaying him. I'd pay him $15M per season and let the chips settle where they may in 3-4 years when Sid and Geno are both done. I bet there are a handful of other teams who would look to do the same though. We have a good amount of space, but there are more appealing options with more space. I could totally see San Jose blowing the bank on him given the have Celebrini and they will have another top 5 pick coming. Can't do what Chicago has done and basically left Bedard without a team around him.
Im not a super fan of Boeser and not a huge fan of that trade that I proposed, just throwing it out there with all of the Van-Pit rumors out there. Boeser is an upgrade over Rackell, but Id rather aim higher.
Ideally we strip out as many contracts as we can and see what can be pieced together in the offseason. |

Hopefully soon it gets sorted out. Carolina is looking for goalies, doubt they want Jarry but could see them interested in Ned maybe? Its a good problem to have... two really good goalie prospects. |

Carolina traded Ned away not too long ago, I'd be surprised if they want him back. I do think Ned will likely be traded, it just won't be easy to find a fit |

You’re likely to see 45 shots a night and some really lopsided play, for or against you. Playing in the coast isn’t that concerning for a young goalie. |

I will say I think we probably could deal DOC now that we are getting healthy again. I wouldn't mind trading him and Hayes. |

Like old times. Jarry was pretty crappy in the last game, but quite good in this one. Pretty much what you get with him. |

It's one thing to let in 8 goals in a game, but it becomes a ritual humiliation when Nieto scores on you... |
