Looks like it's gonna be between Michkov and Celebrini for rookie of the year. That kid got game. They'll probably pick the Canadian over the Russian. Eh what?
- Phillywhiteout

I agree with you. I was watching a panel
On sportsnet last night. They mentioned both players and briefly showed michkov signing the autograph after he got kicked out but then went on to say that celebrini is clearly the better player with his two way game etc. each picked him as the hands down winner of the Calder. That’s the second time I’ve seen them show to be very biased away from michkov. A few weeks back they didn’t have him I. The top 3 favourites for Calder. Foolishness

You are a giant FRAUD! And you just proved it yourself! So when Jones is joking with the audience calling the rebuld BS you lap it up, but when Jones sends a message that has been consistent since he took the job he is lying! What a miserable life you must have.

I look at their actions - you take their word as gospel - rebuilding teams do not resign their 3rd and 4th line players to extensions - they sign aging vets on the cheap to fill those roles if their talent pool is shallow.

Lier - “Lier” is a noun that means someone or something that is lying down or reclining, sometimes in wait.

All this time I thought poho jones slept standing up

I fully agree. It’s about their actions. If they decide to go all in to contend at the tdl then I’ll be mad as everyone should be. If jones does what he mentioned on the sportsnet interview a week or so ago, then I’ll be happy. Trade rr laughts any other vet for picks no matter where you stand.

In the end, I would rather have a cup than a calder. If Celebrini turns out to be better ... so be it. All I know is Michkov has already shown he is a winner.

If the org gets to the tdl in say a bubble position and trades picks and young players for vets and also gets to free agency and signs a whole bunch of older players to big contracts, the. I’ll agree with you. He should be fired on the spot as he has been lying all along. If he follows through with trading vets for picks or young players at the tdl, stays idle though ufa as they did last summer, then I’m
satisfied. I’ll be very surprised if he does the complete opposite of what he’s been saying

- Hextall271

they have to do all 3?

only "young" players they may trade are frost and farabee. players that may not fit on how they want to build their team. as far as free agency if bennet and ekblad make it I have 100% confident they will go after 1 or both.

point is they are not going to sell unless the wheels fall off. even then what will they sell?

Yes, Briere is actually a pretty good GM, imagine that!

imagine them being in a wild card spot and selling. will never ever happen. that would kill the culture and optics. only homers like you think they will sell.

let's establish a baseline. who should be traded that would consider selling?

Actually I was thinking the same thing as I watched the hats reign down last night. Here is the good news. Jones has confirmed that the Flyers will be sellers this season, and that the organization recognizes the Flyers are not close and need to stay true to the rebuild.

https://clutchpoints.com/...eams-trade-deadline-plans

So all I can say to those that keep spewing disinformation about the Flyers plans this year (Its not a rebuild! the Bristish are coming! Its not a rebuild!) STICK IT!

- jd250

The only one spewing disinformation is Jones. The people you label as "those" are smart enough to judge them on what they actually do. Rather than what they say.

they wont go all in, though imo they will look to add. depending on who that is might not be a bad thing.

however, seeing the type of player torts likes your looking at another Thompson and grant type. couple mid/low rd picks going out. that would just be a waste

Yes, Frost and Farabee should comprise the top of the list for players to move. Farabee the other night has an gaping open net and instead tries to pass the puck instead of just shooting it! Apparently if he is not reacting to other people's shots he doesn't know what to do ... can't make this up.
- jd250

On that play, he did not have an open net and if the pass made it through, it was a slam dunk goal.

The players topping the list to move should be Laughton, Konecny, Ristolainen.

The Sharks won a hockey game last night last night. I guess it's true, they are better than the Flyers!
- jd250

The Sharks don't want to be better than the Flyers now. They want to be worse. They know what they're doing.

Jones told the morning show that he told fans that the organization was rebuilding, but that he and Briere told individual players that that’s “BS.”

Now, this is where it’s important to note that Jones A) used to work in TV and radio and B) is considered a jokester among league circles.

Anybody with an ounce of critical thinking would know that Jones was just trolling the audience.

That leaves out most of you on this forum.

- jd250

The fact that you, of all people, are telling others what critical thinking is might be the most hilarious thing in 2024. You love to insert your foot into your mouth.

This has been the consistent message from Jones, Briere and Torts from the very beginning:

“We're gonna battle and try to win every night, but at the same time, we're not losing sight of where we need to get to in order to be a team that can consistently compete for the Stanley Cup.”

- jd250

The issue is that they don't know how to get there. I guess that statement puts them at the top of the NHL hierarchy. Jones is proving to be quite proficient at the job he was hired for. The head cheerleader and BS'er of the franchise. Secretary of fake news.

I can’t believe what I witnessed last night. A member of a professional football team, the Ninas!, flat out quitting on his team and refusing to play. What a complete embarrassment and laughing stock!

As I’ve said, this Ninas team is softer than Cottonelle. And flat brimmed hat man would be nowhere without daddy. Very entertaining! Eh what?

Has Michkov shown he is a winner in the same way that Luchanko has already shown that he is a top 6 NHL center?

Love the spot the Flyers are in right now. Keeping the pressure on the coGM to step up and make an actual hard decision.

Will he do that? Or take the path of least resistance as he has done and stand pat, possibly add depth?

I think I know what he is gonna do. Great entertainment!

Sitting outside of the playoffs is perfect for them to market. Just a few more wins. So close. Our plan is working.

Neither Seeler or Hathaway for the roles they play, are on cheap deals.

Ill give you Johnson. Seeler and Hathaway absolutely not. I would even concede the point if they were 1 year deals, but signing dime a dozen vets to multi year deals is a big no for a supposedly rebuilding team.

I agree. I could handle having Seeler if they didn't have Ristolainen.
