That game was unacceptable, both for the players and the coaching staff.
The team was not prepared for the Penguins. Little effort was made to influence matchups, and the players on the ice were too often over-committing.
That, and Sam is clearly still not 100%. You can see it in his movement.
I don't mind losing, I don't love it, but it does help that 1st pick. I do hate that it appears that player development is going out the window. Torts is trying to make scorers into checking wingers. To the point that they are over-committing on defense (and not well) and ignoring offense.

I have seen enough of Drysdale. Kid has absolutely zero hockey IQ. I really don’t think he is going to develop much and is what is. A plus skater that can’t defend and zero hockey sense. - Flyfly
I was saying that last May...pretty skater and not much more. I called him a 3rd pairing dman at best and got blasted for it by JD and a few others.
JM is such a homer. I honestly can't listen to the guy.

Agree with this. I used to listen to his podcasts all the time, but after Gauthier got traded, he went off homer-like big time, and I just can't take him seriously at all. If he pops up on a Flyers game like he did in the preseason, I mute the tv, so I don't have to listen to him.
He is everything I hate about the Leafs and Canucks fans all rolled up into one.

I don't know how he is going to ultimately turn out but he's has played well the last handful of games and he was really good last night.
Andre is down there because he is a second round pick, is waiver exempt, and needs playing time. Drysdale is a former 1st round pick (#6 overall), not waiver exempt, and was the centerpiece of that trade. Like it or not Drysdale will be given every opportunity to develop at the NHL level.

As he should. Hes just 22 years old. Played on a bad Anaheim team.Hes going to take time. Hes going to suck at times. Theres no magic switch to make him into a good nhl D. To put things in perspective Drysdale is the same age as Andrae and Drysdale did not get to develop in the ahl like Andrae did
