Good comparison

Seriously, its a spot on comparison. Now if only we could find a willing taker.

I really think they should clean house with everyone. And this is me saying that where I’d trade any and all picks as recent as last year. They may have to just buy him out because we’re gonna suck no matter what I think. Or suck just enough to be middle of the pack and who the hell wants to be that. I’d rather be really bad for a few years, take it on the chin and start fresh with a young core and add to that

I truly think this is what Drury wants. He wants everyone to be so pissed off that they all can’t wait to get the hell out of this org, and it’s working lol people may hate it but I can’t agree with him more. I’m so done with this older core of players. Regardless, I think any new GM is going to do this same thing anyway

I want to preface this by saying this is absolutely NOT what I want and absolutely NOT what I am hoping or cheering for. But the best case scenario from a business perspective for the Rangers would be if something happened to Mika where he can’t play hockey anymore and they are able to put him on LTIR.

Everyone has that one friend you bring to the strip club that falls in love and thinks he can save a stripper. I hope theres a GM like that who makes an offer and thinks he can save Zib.

We made it to the ECF and Drury did WHAT exactly to make us better? Make it publicly known he wanted to get rid of 2 leaders in the locker room for cap space he never used? Trade a guy that finally looked like he was figuring it out for a 28 year old dman that can’t play defense and mid round picks? I don’t think anyone can understand my absolute hatred for Drury. Complete and utter MORON

He has been bad. I get clearing cap for trouba and goody but he should’ve had some better plans place to replace them. They can utilize that cap space in the summer or for a big trade

Cool, next summer we can use that space, but why did we do it THIS year then? He didn’t have a plan and it shows

He did have a plan, he had a trade worked out on draft night but Trouba rejected the trade. Would have changed the wbole offseason coming into this year

From afar... once that got out... Drury was left holding the bag. He was at the mercy of Jacob... he in retrospect should have made damn sure Jacob was on board with any move beforehand. And def before it leaked. That was the end of any leverage iwith Jacob or any other player really... they all know they nothing to fear from Drury and that's a bad spot to be in as GM.

I can tell you being around the Ducks quite a bit.. Jacob has been nothing but solid standup guy and great for the kids. And more than fine on the ice.

This organization doesnt have the assets for a big trade, you are over valuing our prospects aside from Gabe Perralt

He didnt have a plan, Drury knew Troubas situation and that Trouba could nix a trade. So instead of working it out or just leaving it alone, he made it public.

I mean this is ridiculous. People can hate Drury all they want but it was reported he had a trade that was blocked by trouba and his agent. That is fully in their right. Everything else is just speculation by all the people who hate him that he leaked stuff. I don’t know what people expect him to do with little or no cap space. Carrick has been fine for his role as a 4th liner. Reilly smith while not exciting has been far from the issue on this team. I don’t even love him as a GM but to say he had no plan just isn’t true. You can only do so much with limited cap space

It's the blocked part that as a GM you must have ironed out .. esp if it gets out... then you lose all leverage...

That's when he got screwed. Esp as it was a well respected player and... the Captain of the Rangers... it wasn't like it was some 4th line scrub.. For a GM that is just a horrific mistake.

Having said that ... I actually think Drury salvaged it pretty well all things considered.

I’m not saying they have the assets. But they have roster players that potentially could do that. Some young players may go the other way

Perrault is the only elite level prospects. I know exactly what type they have

The downward spiral with players had to start last year when supposedly he wanted to trade Trouba and he enforced his NMC. This was a pretty public situation also. A very stupid thing for Drury to do knowing that he wouldnt allow for a trade.

Well as a GM, he should have cleared it with Trouba BEFORE negotiating the trade knowing full well Trouba could have blocked it. Which he did.

Did well??? When you do a trade you would hope that it will make your team better, yes we got Cap space but it has definitely destroyed team chemistry and put this team on a downward spiral, so no, he didnt do pretty well.

No one accused him of not being a standup guy. Emotions play a part in everything, including with professional athletes. He was unable to separate the feelings of being tossed aside and discarded. But this is where Drury had to tell Goodrow and Trouba that we need to clear cap room and both of you are likely to be moved to do so. If he did, the message was not received.

I only meant from the standpoint of getting Verbeek to take all 8 and got a player and pick...
