Thats not likely to happen as there are 6 teams in front of the Habs for that to happen. Nor is it what I think fans should hope for. The rebuild is far from over. |

I don't know how you justify taking the statistically worst goaltender in the NHL and play him.

Well I dont wish for them to lose but I want this rebuild to succeed and for that to happen I think they will still need one or two high picks. Otherwise you get stuck in no man lands and you are never a true stanley cup contender. I dont think this is what you or most people in here trully wants. |

I think if they're able to start winning this year without important pieces like Demidov, Hage, Reinbacher and Fowler, it's a pretty good sign of things to come. it doesn't mean they'll be stuck in "no-man's land" forever. anyway I'm definitely not someone that will start worrying about this lol.

Me neither cause they are not making the playoffs and will get a good pick in 2025 |

Their calendar coming up wont help them.
Hey, if it means Newhook and Dach start not to suck a bag of Richards I will be happy. But you cant win in the NHL if you dont have a 2nd line. Even if this is a much better team with Laine and Carrier. |

Sometimes picks may not result in a winning team, look at Buffalo |

A rebuild is not a garantee but teams need them at some point if they want to be a contender down the road. Look at the Panthers, Tampa, Colorado. All went trough a rebuild. Not being patient and try to take short cuts hurt you more than anything else. Ottawa did that and now they are hoping to sneak into the playoffs. I dont want my team to sneak in, I want them to be a legit contender for years to come. |

Agree, but I am saying it is extremely important to get a winning culture, year after year with no playoffs is confidence destroyer for guys like Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf amongst others. There needs to be a balance |

Well thats the reason why they went after Laine this summer and now Carrier. Why they let go of Primeau and are now trying Dobes as a back up. They are not just tanking either. |

He may never get that chance either
All the teams have young goalies prospects in their pipeline. Some betters than others, but still. |
