hmm, pretty sure the Nordiques were one of the original WHA teams... - Pat1993
Initially was the Sharks franchise then sold to Quebec before they played a game. Google is your friend..
On November 1, 1971, twelve teams were formally announced. They included cities without NHL teams such as the Miami Screaming Eagles, as well as teams in cities where the league's promoters believed there was room for more than one team, such as the Los Angeles Aces, Chicago Cougars, and New York Raiders. Two of the original twelve teams moved before the first season started: the Dayton Arrows became the Houston Aeros and the San Francisco Sharks became the Quebec Nordiques. The Los Angeles franchise then took the nickname Sharks to replace Aces. The Calgary Broncos and the Screaming Eagles folded outright, replaced by the Philadelphia Blazers and the Cleveland Crusaders.

I'd have to compare his stats with Red Light Racicot. |

bah, he's played 11 games with a team in front of him that was also struggling for most of them, it isn't significant enough to be worthy of such a title imho.

Racicot, despite the nickname, wasn't that bad of a goaltender.
At least not "worst in the league" bad like Primeau has been this year.

And the North Stars moved to Dallas after a while
I wonder what teams will be in the next expansion. I would guess Houston and then maybe Atlanta. Would really like a team coming back in Quebec city, but I dont know that we will ever get it back. - deadpoulet
When the Sharks entered the league. The North Stars and Sharks were "split" and has a draft. So the Sharks are the spiritual successors of the Seals |

I know ... I just find the "Red Light" nickname for a goalie to be hilarious. |

Meh, that way Dobes can get a go at it. Makes sense in a rebuild to try things and give the kids a chance |

Hindsight is 20/20 ... too late now to complain anyway.
Let's see what Dobes can do ... I've watched him a few times on TV and I like his size and play.

He missed a lot of times with Covid ,injuries and call ups. That might not have help
I dont think it would be that hard to get a vet back up like Allen out there on the market. What you dont want to do is losing a good young player for nothing. Even more so in a rebuild. They just wanted to be sure of what they had with him before moving on. They gave Barron a lot of chances for the same reason. |
