can we at least try it? tout d'un coup qui serait capable.
are we that good that we have the luxury not to try it?
I mean, with Newhook Slaf and Dack... I get it. our top6 is stacked!

it was still a good start, and that's only one game that they lost as well

they did, and I thought he was less noticeable, but I agree they could try it out again, although he probably isn't a top-line guy (but a very good bottom role player).
- Pat1993

they tried it for 2 periods. 2 periods. give me a break.
he's exactly the type of player a top duo need to complement them, someone to retrieve the puck, to make room for the others... plus he has a good shot. what's not to like?

no no. it was 40 minutes. give him 10 games, what do they have to lose?
if it doesn't work they can always bring him back on the 4th. no problemo

I get what you're saying, but I don't see this as a great injustice, he's doing well in his current role, just enjoy it lol

it's not a question of justice. it's a question of building the best team possible.
sure we can enjoy him on the 4th.
but what if we could enjoy him even more, and win more games...
ah... nvm

so Monsieur Emile is currently 3rd for goals by rookies, behind Celebrini and Mitchkov, with no pp time.
but he's in the right chair on the 4th line.

okay...

GO HABS GO!
6-1 FLA

Not entirely true.

He is often on the 2n PP unit, has 3 PPP this year and average 1-1 1/2 minutes of PP time per game.

He is fine where he is an the minutes he gets.

I am actually gonna side with Pat on this one.

He is doing well with Evans and Armia, that line can drive offense and hard to play against. Defensively responsible. MSL is not scared to put them on the ice against anyone and knows he will get full effort.

I like where he is and what he is dong this year.

Revisit this near the end of the year or into next season... let him get his game solidified at the NHL level, work on the small things / defensive side, and grow.

Habs need to have Laine / Dach and Newhook somewhere in the top 6 as they are going to have to make some important decisions this summer. Can those guys step up (or in Laine's case, keep it up, but also in 5v5)?

This might be the most important off-season of the rebuild coming up.

I'm just probably more curious than you guys to see what he could do. they have absolutely nothing to lose trying it.
