That's what I am hoping for, the only problem I see or potential problem is the Flyers management over values it's players.
Like example No clue if true but rumor was they got offered a 1st for laughs, if that's true you deal him. I don't care what he offers in the dressing room, trading a 4 line player for a 1st need to be done regardless of how great a person he is. - SlNlSTER
I guess that rumor could have been true, but I doubt it. If so, then yes I agree with you. This winter, spring, and off season coming up for Danny and company, should be huge in purging this franchise forward. Fingers crossed. |

Winning or losing this game should not matter in grand scheme of things. Let’s hope that the upper brass is using each game as a measuring stick as what to keep or let go in the building process. - Laceemup88
Losing this game and others would matter a great deal in the grand scheme towards getting a higher draft pick. Same as winning in getting a lower pick. It's paramount to the future.

Yes agree. Going back to your first point about measuring up, I think we can stomach again, if they fall on their faces. We’re almost conditioned at this point. |

So it does matter in the grand scheme of things. It matters a great deal.
For example, SJ losing the last game against the Flyers was good for them. Bad for the Flyers. |

Don’t think we have the pieces, they want to contend now, we can’t offer any solid center options to send back. Foerester, frost, Risto, 3 first round picks. I also don’t like it for the flyers, by the time we are good he will be 30. |

Joel Farabee has two goals in successive games, one an empty netter and the other was a tip in because he was driving to the net. This is who he is folks and this is how he scores. He is not going to score often blowing past the opposition, or sniping the puck top shelf. Farabee has to get to the dirty areas of the ice and look for deflections and rebounds. This is his ceiling, a good middle six foward that can be hard to play against. |

So you agree with me that the Flyers need to start trading veteran players? |

When are you going to realize that the overwhelming majority of goals scored in the NHL are scored from the dirty and high danger areas around the net. There are plenty of reasons to be critical of Farabee, but that isn't a legit reason.

The 2 current wildcard teams are better than the flyers. And they have fewer games played. |

Depends on how they value the Flyers players. If they wanted Laughton and Seeler Flyers say no. Would have to have Vancouver add something. |

Here is where you are mistaken. I am not criticizing Farabee. I am just stating what he is and how he needs to play in order to be an effective forward in this league. I have said many times he is a solid and smart player. Where you and I have disgreed with each other on is his ceiling. |

Being hard to play against is not so much about being physically imposing, though that can be one aspect. Its about being a 200 foot player that plays above the puck and makes plays with the puck versus just getting rid of the puck as soon as it comes to you. Farabee is a smart player that knows how to forecheck and knows where to be on the ice. That type of player is hard to play against. |

the 200 foot player cliche. still do not see him as hard to play against in any fashion.

My best friend down in Victoria is a huge Vancouver fan, and says Petterson is soft and immature. He has stated a couple of times that he would be ok trading Petterson, but would lose his sh1t if they traded Miller.
Petterson just signed an 8 year extension last year too for over $10 per. I wouldn't want to do anything close that number for the Flyers right now..they would have $20 mill/year tied up in Petterson and TK for the next 7 years.

That contract is rough….but Peterson has played to that level. There are some issues with the player, but he’s legit. You would have to think York and Foerster would be enticing….Drysdale still has a lot of hockey people thinking he has ability to be a top pairing d. Luchanko ? Bonk? If VNC does move him what are they looking for? Is he worth Konecny?
I agree with your friend about Miller….but maybe Millers issues may lead to him being moved…. |

I think Farabee’s ceiling is a 1rst line W, very good complimentary player. He will never be a play driver , but I think there is way more there then what we’ve seen this year…. 25 G’s 60Pt guy? I think with a stud C and a solid winger on the other side that would be his production. |
