That contract is rough….but Peterson has played to that level. There are some issues with the player, but he’s legit. You would have to think York and Foerster would be enticing….Drysdale still has a lot of hockey people thinking he has ability to be a top pairing d. Luchanko ? Bonk? If VNC does move him what are they looking for? Is he worth Konecny?
I agree with your friend about Miller….but maybe Millers issues may lead to him being moved….

I just don't think the return for the cost to acquire would line up very well. So a couple of younger players, 1 a 20 goal scorer and the other on our top pairing for most of the year, plus prospects plus picks? Just seems like too much for a player that his current teams' fan's are fine with moving on from him. Throw in the contract he has, and I think it is just too much money, assets, etc for just 1 player that might have already had his career year at 26 years old. Huge upgrade from what we have for sure, but not much left on the team moving forward, and no abilty to add with his paycheque taking up so much cap space.

Nope, not worth it in my books. Be patient, draft well, and sell off the vets and TK.

Here is where you are mistaken. I am not criticizing Farabee. I am just stating what he is and how he needs to play in order to be an effective forward in this league. I have said many times he is a solid and smart player. Where you and I have disgreed with each other on is his ceiling.

No, you were trying to be critical and if you weren't doing that, then you were trying to flame. It's funny, since you said you see him as a middle six winger, rather than an "okay player with okay skill.

Petterson is too old in my opinion for the Flyers to go after. Which makes him perfect for the Flyers in their eyes. If I thought the Flyers were close and needed a 1C to get them there. Petterson for York, Forester and a 1st would be an absolute steal. I wouldn't make that deal if I was Vancouver.

I think the jets may have an issue with who you are calling the best team.

Who cares what the Jets think. Vegas has the best record in the league.

There is a boat load of mediocracy in today’s NHL.
- landros 2

I agree but describe it differently, there is a boat load of talent in the NHL, just not a boat load of upper end or elite talent, they wanted all teams to have a shot, they got it, to make the playoffs, just not to win it all.

It doesn’t matter how they match up, as long as they play the right way… the Torts way.

They’ll rest him and label him day to day and then a month after the season in which he remains shelved, the Flyers will announce that he’s having surgery in June.
- mikeyo27

Yeah almost. They'll probably shelve him and then wait until late July or August to get surgery so that he misses some of the following season because nhl execs are idiots.

Still early days but Jett's already starting to get left behind by a lot of the other kids from his draft class on the production front. Kid needs to start showing some major growth and sustained dominance at that level or the second guessing is only gonna intensify.

Starting the year in Junior certainly could have helped get his offensive mojo going. The Canadian coach is an imbecile which doesn’t help either. Flyers gonna Flyer.

I’m not a fan of a move for him….but the price for a guy like that would be a lot. I really have no idea what they are looking for or if after giving him that much $ and term would they move on that quickly….I wouldn’t think so.

I wondering if he may be traded by Guelph at some point before the playoffs start. That team is REALLY bad and he is only 5 points (20 points in 16 games )off the team lead despite playing in 18 less games than the team leaders.

Agree completely about Team Canada coach and team builders. They left some questionable players off the roster, including IMO Barkey, who is Captain of the defending champs and current best team in the OHL.

Canada getting railed by Czechia. 3-1 after 1.

They may be talented, but they don't play well together.

I watched Nasty Knuckle's today. They had Mike Richards on….he talked about Torts and the contenders in the NHL and teams that win cups….they all have one thing in common. They play a system, that everyone on the team sticks to. It’s not as frequent as some may think. He mentioned the difference between the Flyers and those teams is simply talent. He mentioned teams like Buffalo, Anaheim, Ottawa….he said basically that they’re talented guys basically free wheel. He said he watches some full games and has no idea what the team concept or system is? Basically those teams will never win., despite the talent. With Torts, love him or hate him, he installs a system that everyone must follow or you don’t play for him….compared it to Sutter….he also made a point of saying both coaches do not stymie creativity as long as you play within the system…made the point of saying how important it is to install that in todays Flyers rather then expect guys to eventually buy in to a system after they’ve been allowed to do whatever they want early on in their career…really shows you why a guy like Drysdale looks lost some nights….and why some teams despite having elite talent will never win.

Lots of flies in that ointment. Starting with by it's nature, Tortorella's system, while it may not stifle creativity, it certainly stifle's offense. Every team has a system. Some just play it better. Tortorella's system hasn't won anything or come close to winning anything in 20 years

He just turned 26.

Tippet is 26. Frost will be 26. Farabee will 25. Cates will be 26. Ersson is 25.

Should they be moved as well?
