Torts did not underachieve in NY or Columbus. Rangers went to a cup final and lost to a much better team. Columbus upset a Tampa bay team that went on to win two cups. Wrong coach at the wrong time here but to say he can’t coach or that you know anything more than he does is absolutely absurd and what makes you the pompous Dbag you’ve always been. Laughable, touch some grass.

Let's start with you being incorrect about the Rangers going to a Cup final under Tortorella. Your lack of grasp of simple facts along with your reading comprehension issues, I never said that I know anything more than he does, nor have I said that he can't coach. Details escape you which is why I laugh at your feeble and weak insults. Now back to ignoring you

As of right now? The jets have the best record. This is according to nhl.com and espn.com
- WhiskeyMan

Depends on the criteria. LV points % is .715, Jets are .705.

Although the Jets have 55 points in 39 games. Vegas 53 in 37 games.

Actually I think I have to go with Vegas having the best record.

Does it really matter, it’s safe to say the jets could be considered the best team in the league. Vegas loses tonight and they will be. Really got to be a hardo to argue this.

You can do that if you choose to. Since we're into suggestions. What I would suggest is that instead of going with anecdotal evidence. Spend time such as I have studying systems. Watching and listening to seminars on offensive hockey that are publicly available by strong offensive hockey coaches such as Martin St. Louis and Peter Laviolette for example. You mention systems. Offensive play is as very much a structure of play and system of attack as defense or a forecheck is. Watch some of that and it illuminates what is missing from the Flyers structure and system. The Flyers head coach has self admitted that he doesn't know how to coach offense. How can a head coach that admits that, not stifle offense? By the very nature of his not being able to effectively coach it, he does. Rocky Thompson certainly doesn't fill the void. It's why I repeatedly see the lack of balance, spacing and key strategies of offensive attack systems that are missing from the Flyers attack.

No offence…I’ve played…and I've had systems and structure at every level. It’s like second nature for me…yes terminology can be different but I still recognize for the most part what a team is at least trying to do. You make it sound like these are all new to the game. I’m sure there are new wrinkles…but for the most part I’m not seeing anything that would make me scratch my head….I really have no desire to debate over this stuff…it bores me to know end. To me it’s just part of the game.
You’ll like the the podcast…Richie talked about what Lavy’s system is…why it can be successful and why it’s not working in NY this year….and how he won’t be changing it.
I just, in this instance, agree with Richards, that I’m not seeing the stifling of offence being a result of the structure Torts wants them to play with.

Oh yea, your nonstop complaining about the guy and grandstanding about how he’s horrible really don’t mean anything. It’s really too bad you didn’t get into coaching, you would have been great

Well then you shouldn't have a problem seeing the difference between how teams coached using modern day aggressive offensive attack systems, utilized by the best teams in the league compare to the way the Flyers play. For example his strict requirement that players stay on the defensive side of the puck at all times. How he requires F3 to always maintain defensive position. If you look at Flyers offensive hot flow and shot distribution charts, it will show you the difference. It's fine that you agree with Richards. I don't. I think he is wrong.

LOL, this has been explained to you before how to look at the NHL standings. It's not points, as teams have played unequal amount of games. It's points percentage that shows which team has the better record. It is fact that Vegas has won a higher percentage of their points than the Jets have. It's really pretty simple.

Vegas has the best record in the NHL (.716 points percentage)

bad defense by Risto there, no way he should have allowed Stone to get in this position for that goal. Risto should have been much stronger there.

when someone says record its wins a loses. Percentage points don't win you the president's trophy or give a team the #1 seed in the playoffs.

Um, no that's false because there are OT games that are 3 point games in the NHL. Points percentage can also come into play in those situations as a tie breaker. You're really bad at this. One team has played 40 games while the other has played 37

Would not mind some of these wingers on the roster cleared out. Plenty of wingers in the pipeline. Briere needs to make trades.

A team can trip over wingers like Farabee. I would trade him, but Torts seems to like him so the Flyers might keep him. Frost however is another story.

I wonder if this is Zamula's last year with the Flyers. Andrae sent back to LV. Grans, Samson, and McDonald will all have another full year in the AHL. Seems like a good time to move on from Zamula before next season.

two bad goals against this period from Kolosov .. he really needs to be playing in the AHL right now to develop, he is not ready for the NHL and its sometimes painfuil to watch.

Yes, time for Frosty to move on, and most likely, succeed elsewhere based on the Flyers luck.
